Their bigger picture goal of course is to find the Operator, the actual operator, take it down and remove the surveillance, and over all just try to reclaim that city.

(I am a Brilex and Jaylex fan through and through so so far most of my thoughts involve them)

So to mirror MH, shit still goes on with Alex where it seems like he’s working against them

Alex goes missing on a solo run (solo runs aren’t normal, usually Brian insists on at least supply gathering in pairs or whatever they’re doing but, Alex is stubborn as always goes anyway, needed something for his current jammer type

Alex doesn’t come back. They do a search party, nothing comes up.

Until maybe Brian or Tim find his big eye shield and that’s when they call it, they make a memorial and call it, he was dusted.

They’re devastated of course but that’s the games here and they can’t just stop. It effects Jay hard and noticeably, he starts trying to teach himself what Alex was doing since he kinda understands it and stuff, not fully but he knows how to wire and he can teach himself with time.

Jay starts going out on his own without really telling the others. He swears he sees Alex out in the woods and tells them but after a search with now avail Tim tries to just say Jay is taking it harder

This is until Jay and Brian are out on some thing together and they get into a tussle with the a few proxies.

They manage to just barely win but they took down one of them and something something i don’t wanna get into the religion in danger days rn but brian i think would absolutely be a follower so he de-masks the guy they got

they don’t recognize him at first. He’s scruffy and his glasses are gone and there’s no color left- but it’s alex

Jay being like i told you i saw him i saw him he’s alive we have to do something

Brian being a whole host of feelings

they reconditioned alex

brian’s first initial crash out involves him freaking out about cutting alex’s hair- something he KNEW alex would take pride in i mean he would watch alex dye it for hours or brush it out or whatever like it was so important it was part of his identity as a killjoy and it’s gone

but also he was reconditioned and strongly

^^ this hits close to home for brian because he almost was & escaped. it left him blind in one eye and with brain damage which has led to a slew of issues he still handles, so he knows what they did and are doing to alex

this all sort of becomes a big motivator to find the operator-

at this point brian also reveals something he and alex were working on and why he and alex would go out alone to find cameras anyway

brian spreading out this huge map of what he calls “the ark”

it’s this spider web looking trap of every last camera they could find mapped out

it’s not all of them of course, but it’s a lot

and they’ll need them to find alex, and with their placements brian is sure he can find a pattern to find the operator

brian getting sloppy and going back on his own rules about solo-ing stuff to find alex and he DOES

this is just a proof of concept doodle but

But much like how Danger Days takes place in a post apocalyptic California, this one takes place in a post apocalyptic Alabama.

The AU is pulling from the general concepts vibes and overall setting of Danger Days while it’s the Marble Hornets characters

Some things will reference events in MH or mirror it but not 100% as this is less a supernatural horror type au and more so these guys in an adjacent universe to Danger Days.

Different parts of the country have different zones and different major threats that are operating in those areas.

Here in the Region that is To Be Named still but will probably reference Rosswood Park in someway, name pending.

You have “The Operator”, a faceless bad guy with “eyes” everywhere, there’s all these masked individuals where you dont know who the ring leader actually is, all faceless masks n such. These are, for lack of better words, its proxies.

There are times where there’s build up as if it’s actually the Operator who has been caught or taken down but it turns out it is just one of these Proxies, no one actually knows what the Operator looks like, where they are based, etc.

no eyes, but always watching

The Operator’s whole thing is surveillance, it has the whole city under watch. It could be a subsidiary of Bl/IND but it could also be its own thing, depends how much I actually want to overlap this AU with the canon of Danger Days. There are cameras everywhere.

So you have these ragtag rebels, a group of killjoys (that i also might rename as killjoys seems specific to the california region but again have to workshop this still)

I have to workshop their killjoy names too, right now I only have Brian and Alex.

Brian is Miracle Mile. This is a reference to myself and my friends common association of Brian with religious imagery, in this case he would be a heavy follower of the Desert Witch (or this aus version of it), and the fact that he has a motorcycle as a huge motif of his.

Alex is Signal Jam, a reference to MH how he would also make cameras act up and go fuzzy but also a reference to his primary skill/job here.

There are two groups (the idea is one group to have something to do with “Marble” and the other “Hornets”, again still workshopping this)

Originally it was Brian, Jay, Alex

They were in touch with their sister group that composed of Tim, Jessica, and Amy.

They worked hand in hand and would often swap members depending on who was needed where at any given time- Jessica, Amy, and Tim primarily do clean up and rescues for bodies and assets of the fallen.

Alex makes camera jammers and will ride with Brian around killing off the operators cameras

Brian has a motor bike and her name is Mary

Tim has a pick up truck with a ramp for brian to launch himself off with his bike

Jay repurposing cameras, tearing them apart and making up his own rigs

Jay and his entries, he keeps voice recordings of things going on that he calls his entries. Alex used to pick on him for it but Jay insists they’re important for when they’re all gone

Jessica being the head of the 2nd division, they primarily operate as a recon team and a recovery team

^^ Tim being from this division but transferring where his skills better helped, remains in contact between the two
