“I like the sound of that” Dana said and nodded. The pink hue never once vanished from their cheeks. Instead it got worse when they heard Aileen’s question. “I would love to” they replied and then extended their hand for the other to take. 

aileen took the other’s hand without hesitation and started toward the dance floor, a smile on her face all the while she was leading there. “i am always amazed at how well they decorate for each theme,” she admits, her eyes foaming around the two of them and landing on dana. she pulled the other close and started swaying to the beat of the music. 

     “it seems just like a really random theme,” conor says, brows knitting together. he thinks there could have been something a little better, but there’s free booze and apparently beyonce, so he guesses it could be worse. “it’s definitely not what i would have chosen. but honestly, i would have chosen to not do it at all if it had been me.”

aileen nodded her head in agreement. it was an odd chose, certainly, but it wasn’t as though either of them could change it now. “it is interesting to see how all of our classmates view themselves,” she notes, looking at him with an expectant expression. “has anyone ever told you you’re a bit of a grandpa?” she teased.

      “Well then.” Calypso laughs, squeezing gently as the other laces their fingers together. “Oh, uh… No date.” Callie smiles ruefully, thinking about how that’s been her answer for every single one of these events so far. “So feel free to monopolize away.” She tacks on with an added grin. 

“well then,” she teasingly repeated, grinning at her friend. she pulled the other in closer with their intertwined hands. “you can be my date!” she happily stepped back and turned, leading them toward the drinks. she grabbed one for herself and handed the other to calypso. “what should we toast to?” 

            “it’s funny because i feel exactly the same way.” and it may be the drink she was nursing herself, but it was one of those times that mags became acutely aware that gallagher was filled with exceptionally attractive people. it was a benefit she enjoyed when she wasn’t hyperfocusing on her career. she leaned in closer to aileen. “you know, some of our peers would find these events to, you know, hook up with someone. do you envision yourself doing the same tonight?”

aileen smiled at the other, glad that she wasn’t the only one. she turned her head to meet mags gaze, eyebrows raising slightly at her question. “i wasn’t necessarily planning to,” she confessed, laughing softly. aileen licked her lips and shrugged. “but the night is young and one can never know what might happen.” she gestured toward mags. “and what about you?” 

      “  𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍  𝚠𝚎  𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗  be  able  to  tell  if  she  does  like  us  ?  ”  though  she  assumes  to  be  liked  by  beyoncé  is  probably  on  the  level  of  meeting  the  queen  !  “  you  know  …  that  is  entirely  possible  .  maybe  she’s  in  search  of  more  bodyguards  ,  ”  she  muses  before  taking  another  sip  of  her  drink  .  “  the  illuminati  needs  bodyguards  ,  right  ?  ”

“i’m sure that we would get a lecture of some sort if we peeved her in some way,” she pointed out. it would be kind of like the lectures her class had when the misbehaved for presenters in primary school. “i was about to say that one can never have too many body guards,” she started. “but i think that’s a lie. one could be too paranoid.” 

      “Um, have you seen yourself?” Calypso enthuses, eyes wide as she takes in her friend’s appearance. They were both definitely checking each other out, but she’s a few glasses of champagne in and they’re both hot so why not! “But thank you. I feel good tonight.” She smiles, a slight blush rising at the other’s lips on her cheek. “Oh, absolutely!”

“i did look in a mirror before i came down,” she teased, laughing softly. she grabbed callie’s hand and intertwined their fingers without thinking too much about it, dragging her toward the bar. “if you told me, i forgot,” she started, turning back toward her friend and looking at her expectantly. “did you bring a date? because if i’m going to monopolize your time, i need to know who i’m pissing off.” 

Looking down at the dress they were wearing, a beaming smile formed on their lips at the compliment. Taking Aileen’s hand into their own, they then felt how their cheeks heated up and turned a deep shade of pink. “Oh wow thank you. You look drop dead gorgeous as well” Dana gestured towards Aileen and then sighed softly. “Like a real life princess”

aileen grinned, looking down at herself and back up to dana. “i guess we’re both princesses then,” she teased, leaning in toward her so that only the two of them could hear. “do you want to dance?” she asked, hoping she wouldn’t be let down.

      𝚜𝚑𝚎  𝚙𝚞𝚝𝚜  𝚊  𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛  up  to  her  lips  after  her  sip  of  champagne  .  “  i  don’t  think  beyoncé  knows  what  we  do  here  .  she  probably  thinks  we’re  some  private  school  for  the  extremely  wealthy  ,  ”  chantal  muses  with  a  laugh  .  “  the  illuminati  thing  is  rather  believable  ,  though  ,  ”  she  adds  .  “  i  guess  we’ll  never  know  !  and  i  don’t  think  the  school  briefed  on  her  on  what  we  do  here  .  ”

aileen nodded her head at the other’s logic, knowing that she was probably right. “maybe she would like us better if she did know the truth?” she asked, laughing airily with the other. “isn’t it?” she smiled, shaking her head in amusement. “maybe she knows exactly who we are and wanted to do the concert to help to recruit for her own cause,” she teased.

     “how do you think they come up with these themes?” conor asks, looking around to all the decorations of the event. “i don’t think saints and sinners would have been what i would have gone for.” well, there’s a reason conor’s never considered joining the ppc.

“i don’t think it’s the first time someone used this theme,” she pointed out, her own eyes taking in the decor and moving around to those dressed up around them until they found conor again. “but after a year like we had, i don’t know if it would have been the theme i chose. it’s a little touchy.” she scrunched her nose in slight distaste. 

        “ ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE A SAINT OR SINNER ? ”   he asks her, offering her one of the two drinks in his hand. he had lost orion for the time being, but he’s sure they wouldn’t mind him giving away the drink that was meant for them.   “ no offense to the party people, but i liked last year’s casino night better. ”   shocker there.    @aileenmacnee​​

“a saint,” she said, grabbing the skirt of her dress and moving it a little, swinging it around a bit. “but it’s off-white, so with a hint of sinner.” aileen couldn’t help the little smirk that she gave him in that moment, taking the drink he offered with a nod of her head. “thank you.” looking around, she shrugged her shoulders. “i think this is fun,” she admitted. “and we get to see what people think of themselves morally. very revealing.” she brought her cup up to her lips and took a sip. 

      Callie grins in return, glad her friend knows her own beauty. “Hm. You know, I’m not sure — but I can see both sides to it.” On one hand, President Sutton had dealt with multiple high level threats to the school, and on the other so many bad things had happened under her watch. “I just hope she gets a nice retirement, whatever her reasons are.” 

aileen nodded her head in agreement, her friend was making a valid point. “do you think she’ll actually retire?” she asked, raising her eyebrows in the other’s direction. “or do you think she’s going to take a break and then try and pick something else up later on?”

“I can’t believe that time had passed us by so quickly. Soon this year is over and summer break will take over all our minds” running a hand through their hair, they shrugged. “So many things I wanna do this summer but so little time. Do you ever feel like you don’t have the time for the things you actually wanna do? It’s a shame as we often sit later on with regrets”

aileen nodded her head along at the other’s words, dog-earring the page in her book and closing it so she could give dana her full attention. she placed the book down in her lap. “always,” she said, laughing softly to herself. “but i use a lot of the summer time to just recuperate from the school year. especially one like the year we just had,” she pointed out, adding on the last bit.
