and when I clicked on his profile his most recently played artist was one with one song he ever played.

It was on a playlist for me what seems like eons ago,

that was our way of communicating,

like a modern day love letter that never technically involves having to admit when you're wrong or saying you're sorry.

I played that song

from eons ago

and my whole world got fuzzy and my chest got tight,

each piano note feeling like another death drop on a rollercoaster launching me forward at hyper speed back in time.

Not for the reasons you might think.

Not because I thought it was about me,

or because I thought he thought about me,

but because I thought about his wife.

The one I just heard about him putting his hands on

the way he did to me.

I wondered if he played her that song

as his way of begging for forgiveness,

the way he did to me.

I wondered if this poor woman will take him back.

(they got a kid you know)

She probably feels like she has to stay

and this grown man will still be trapping women with shitty spotify apologies.

I wonder if there's a song out there I could play to her

one that would also say I'm sorry.

I'm sorry I didn't have him arrested so he couldn't hurt you too.
