do you ever think about Nellie O’Malley and her character arc of going from being self deprecating, quiet, and compliant because she is a product of a society that taught her that she and people like her are worthless and that the only thing she was good for is work and she ends up blossoming into a braver person who recognizes her own worth and will ultimately do whatever it takes to protect her family. Do you ever think about that and just cry real tears

honestly i don't really mind most beforever/post-beforever outfits, my biggest complaints about most of them are that i personally don't like the style as much because they lack certain elements that american girl itself endeared me to (i.e. giant collars and poofy sleeves on samantha, drop waist dresses on rebecca), or, in the case of kit's green meet outfit and photographer outfit, there's not much separating the cut/pattern/style from your garden-variety childrens semi-formal clothes you could find on the rack at old navy or the children's place in like 2011. other than that i approve of the vast majority of them. addy in particular looks lovely in every outfit i've ever seen on her

also this only applies to dolls that existed pre-beforever. i think the biggest complaint i have about any doll/outfit for a character that came out after the rebrand is that isabel hoffman has platform shoes with her meet outfit and that courtney's pieces are all sold separately from each other (which is just annoying)
