Everybody grew up. Got married, had kids, started businesses. I didn’t do shit. I’m in my childhood bedroom, just waiting to die. I never got the invitation to adulthood. Maybe it was lost in the mail, but I think they never sent it. I feel left before. They made plans and never invited me. I was right there and they ignored me.

I have to say im lucky that my friends group never killed me. Sure I had a horrible racist incidents with some that I reflected on the last few years and blocked everyone who hurt me. Im still resentful of growing up as mainly the only black kid. I remember teachers and principals ignoring me... especially Mrs. Byers saying I was a shame to the whole school (I was in grade school). While someone told the principal they were horrified a teacher said that and all the kids were rowdy but I was polite. Refusing a Gatorade on a field trip doesn't make me a shame to the school. My mom and I never got an apology. Mrs. Bruce also said weird comments to me. Allowed the rednecks to make KKK masks and didnt do anything till I went to her. No punishment. Mr. Spivey told me i was the type of girl who'd land men in jail. (Middle school). Had a best friend who i recently reconnected with then she stopped talking to me luckily who always introduced me as her n*gger friend. Girl scouts was the worst experience i had. The moms were awful and treated me bad. But this is why I have the desire to stay. I never wanted to be alone I wanted to feel accepted. Maybe if I acted less black. Maybe if I mocked black people too id be accepted. I think often of a classmate telling me I was "the good type of black person" compared to the "other n*gger" in school. I hope Nolan case and Tamla's case comes to light. Countless black deaths with white people. Im just lucky it didnt happen to me.
