without regrets

Watching DS9's episode that takes place in the 1950s (Far Beyond the Stars) and the policemen hassling Ben Sisko is a little too close for comfort. Sometimes it feels like we haven't progressed much in almost 70 years. However, I'm thankful for this show for tackling hard issues that continue to be relevant twenty years after it was released. That's the kind of thing that made Star Trek excellent.

Just realized that while a running joke on DS9 is wondering what the Breen look like under the helmets, Kira and Dukat find out in the very first episode the Breen are in because they steal their uniforms. So the joke kind of falls apart before it starts. :)

That moment when a show in 1999 has such hope for the future that in 2009, the regular person’s TV is voice activated and MTV is doing a show on the moon. Back to the Future 2 wasn’t much more accurate but at least they were predicting much further in the future so there’s a little more margin for error. :)

Why do people on TV only wear baggy, comfy clothes when they break up from someone and are sad? By that logic, I'm constantly sad and just broken up with someone.

Fun fact: Green as in Rachel Green is actually spelled Greene. That’s been mispelled EVERYWHERE.

Vanessa keeps saying she’s not sure if Nick is ready to be engaged because she doesn’t think he will compromise. But really it’s that she doesn’t want to compromise. 

In other news... BEAUTY AND THE BEAST WAS EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE IMAGINED AND MORE!!!!

So Corinne was awful the whole season but my heart broke a little when he apologized to Nick saying that she was sorry if she had ever done anything wrong. Oh sweetie, just because he didn't choose you doesn't mean you need to feel that horrible about yourself. I wouldn't want any girl to say that to a guy just because he broke up with her. Also, if she actually meant that she was going to stop trying to impress men and actually learns from this experience, I would be really ok with that.
