I've caught myself rewatching Gossip Girl, one of my favorite shows, and while rewatching it, I gained a new sense of hate for Vanessa Abrams. When I first watched Gossip Girl, I never really liked her, but I disliked Jenny more than her. This rewatch, Vanessa really stood out to me. Is she sometimes the victim or brought into it? Yes. Although...... she just always did entirely too much (in my opinion). Now obviously, most characters, if not all, have no sense of morality, and they were all horrible at some point. Vanessa just never knew how to mind her business, especially when everything was "peaceful". Her mouth was the biggest, and she never knew when to stay put.

An example I have is when Juliet Sharp is in town. She eventually decided to help her, her reasoning being that she is also 'sick of losing to Serena'. THEN brought Jenny into it. Granted, what Juliet did after had nothing to do with either of them. Vanessa then told Rufus that it was basically all Jenny's idea, because Jenny wanted to do the right thing. I personally never really liked her before that situation, but my dislike was solidified after this. They could've come clean like Jenny suggested and faced minimal backlash. But instead, she pinned it on Jenny and faced more backlash later when everyone found out she lied. 

Speaking of her meddling in everyone's life. She stole Dan's book and published it, after he told her to leave it alone. Was it both a blessing and a curse for him? In my opinion, yes. But it was not her place to publish it. 

Now, I named this the most controversial because that's the truth. Her likability in the show is split. Some like her, some hate her, and some feel that she's just being a normal show character. Some people feel like she brings nothing to the show, and some feel like she adds an extra flair. As much as I don't like her, I will say she did bring extra drama, especially because I feel some of what she did was out of left field. 

I would love to hear other opinions, though. That's why I brought this here! What does everyone else think?

A place where she doesn't feel like she's bothering anyone with things they have heard countless times. Other times, a girl wants to see if there's a community that can relate to her. In my case, it's both, followed by many other reasons.
