“Maybe this is just an excuse to just get close to you, Woolball.” Silver gently chuckles, leaning his back against her chest. Nothing quite like getting comfy during a snowstorm.

"Oh, well, I'm certainly glad to hear you've recovered, Silver. Wouldn't want you frightened around me." The avian demon laughed. Though it seemed he had found company in between when he and Silver had last spoken. Here in Canterlot where the Griff suggested he go.

"Silver!" Rarity's voice exclaimed as she hopped onto the bench next to where the demon prince sat. "You know Prince Stolas? Oh, that's marvelous, all the best creatures I know already knowing one another!" To Silver, she waved a hoof "Isn't he fabulous. You know the attire gives me all kinds of fashion ideas. Oh,-- oh I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to cut into the conversation!"

"Not at all, dear," Stolas assured.

"Really terribly sorry," she insisted.

As far as it was understood to him, Stolas was obviously looking for Blitzo - besides the obviously deadly mingling of worlds, for who knows whatever reason. Seeing all the weird shit in the world he’d lived in almost kinda desensitized him to a point.

And then.. Rarity somehow knew of this owl. Of course she did.

Claws drew at the midpoint on his beak, pressing in. Instead of seeking more surprised at it all, it merely drew more acceptant sighs out of the smaller bird.

‘Don’t question it. Weird shit’s happened like this before - just get feather face here on his way towards Blitzo..’

..more and more, he questioned exactly what the hell this mare was, as well as what she did on a daily basis. Diane was a helluva strange mare.

Blitzo, meanwhile, would find that between all the sass; Silver felt his beak twinge. That nickname was only used in cases of someone who knew him personally. Did.. Did Blitzo know her? No, no that wasn’t the case.

“Yeah, I should..” Silver paused. “I should probably point out that Pinkie Pie here is specifically someone who can kinda see inside this weird little.. sixth sense that’s way beyond what most of us can see.”

This, was said, of course as if it was another day in the park. This was normal.. at least, in this world.

“..I’ll uh.” The dog butted griffon snagged the two tickets, giving her a nod. “I’ll.. I’ll be careful, darl. Thanks.”

The pink mare seemed to fume, nostrils flared. She stomped her front hooves on the desk and with a high but firm voice and that wacky, horror movie worthy accent reasserted to Silver, “Silver One, Diane is not Pinkie. Pinkie is not Diane. Same source, two different mares. Learn to read between the lines or miss the subtext.”

Blitzo’s eyes had widened. “Wew. Got shivers there.” He quirked a brow. “Hey, her name’s Diane. She said it like six times, Silvs. What more do you want?” he snorted. 

He put his sunglasses back on and held out his clawed hand for his ticket. “Alright, let’s do this thing. Where’s your ruler live, anyways? A castle? A villa? A mansion? I hope it’s not too bright and shiny, my eyes are starting to hurt.”

“Heh. Was it that obvious?” The first inklings of a smile would begin to peek up; happy at the new change of topic that rolled around. “But, specifically, I like a wide scope of hard rock. Metal’s good, mind you, but so’s some Neighties metal, psychadelic rock, post-punk-“

Claws went up, before he’d ask what the hell was post punk. “Don’t ask, it’s a complicated thing - all these subgenres.”

“I’m a very simple bird though - If I like it, I listen to it. If I don’t, I don’t. But I don’t need a masters in music theory to know what the hell it is I like,” Silver scoffed, shifting around in the seat while his canine like tail spilled at Blitzo’s side; poofing up and over to curl lazily somewhere nearby.

A gulp. This was the one time where he seemed thankful for Blitzo’s presence and him being there. To take some of the heat off of him, if nothing else.

The railway tracks didn’t strike him as odd, all things considered though the denizens all being quadrupeds who gave curious glances registered. His darker color palette and red and black attire contrasted with them and his bipedal stance made him stand out but nothing here screamed alarm.

Then the train arrived.

It looked like something out of a human child’s candy-themed make believe board game or a Christmas gingerbread decoration. Blitzo gawked at how pink and overly ornate and decked out in sparkles the damn thing was.

“Things aren’t.. normally that ominous for me, if I’m being honest. It all involves more things that are ‘normal’ - relatively speaking.” A frazzled Streak attempts to recollect his thought train. Not to be confused with the actual train that pulled into the station.

A series of claws rubbed up back behind his head, as the demon began to cackle. Probably has never seen anything like this before - this colorful, delicious carriage that would cart them to the capital.

Blitzo led the way to the train now realizing the griff wasn’t feeling his sharpest. He didn’t mind at the moment. But once they got to the city he would be clueless again and need to rely on a map if Silver was down for the count.

“Need to take a breather, man?” Blitzo asked once they were on the train, glancing around at all the denizens who gave curious looks. At least they didn’t gawk long enough for it to be considered rude. The place seemed pretty nice compared to others he frequented. And they– were all–

“Horses. Tiny horses. All of them…” The subtlest of smiles as he sat down. But he did offer Silver his attention. “Like, I don’t know listen to some of that de-stress noise on a phone or talk to someone?” He noticed he hadn’t seen any cellphones and strummed his claws along the train seat. “Or, hm… Well, need something to talk about?”

As they sat down, it was made clear talking to Diane freaked him the hell out.

Sure, he put on a tough face, but..

Clearly, still unnerved.

Eventually, as the train began moving; Silver would unclench his beak, ears waggling at Blitzo’s words - an offer to talk. Yeah, yeah, that sounded good..

“Ah? ..I.. do I have a specific look on my face..?” The alicorn states, his face of drowsy sorrow filling the air as it was clear that the nightmares had still not been cleansed from his palate. His frazzled hair, his weary eyes, all of it coming around and truly messing with his sense of balance and location.

“..I might just be tired or.. perhaps something is on my mind that I cannot quite place. I am not sure.. I do hope to figure it out, however.” He says, shaking his body and allowing the feathers around him to fluff up gently before he smooths them back down with some magic, those ethereal clockwork spikes running along his frame before he unfurls his wings out to stretch.

Gordon blinked. While things had been doing better than how they usually had been, Avery just seemed to be continuously degrading with every day that passed on between the two of them.

His magic continued to baffle and befuddle him; with all of it’s pointy energy. Fascinating, all the same, though.

It was like like taking care of a eight year old foal.

Where as he was comfortable and used to the heat, Gordon would merely shake his head; scouring around the dry, sandy land. In all eight directions was merely.. well, more sand.

Another glance to the south revealed a series of crumbling sandstone structure; some of which held distinctly carved statues - all ending in varying animalistic heads. Two in particular being falcons, while another held a jackal.

“Ah, there it is..”

One can hear a few grumbles come out as she attempts to readjust herself and get comfortable. She’s starting to regret her decision to come out and join Gordon. 

She’s just kind of staring off into the distance to pass the time until she hears him speak up. “Are we finally here?” Ears perk up slightly as she tries to get a better look. 

“We better be! I’m tired of having nothing to do!” She was about to suggest that they just turn around and go back home since at least then if she does nothing then it’s under comfortable conditions.

“Well, you made the choice to come out with me to the middle of the Somnambulan desert.” Gordon shrugs both of his wings, rolling his eyes. Both were focused on following the main, dust-riddled road out towards the objective involving his profession.

A mystery had popped up as of late, involving ancient Earth Ponies; and potentially, the idea of restless spirits haunting ruins.

“Yeah, well I didn’t think it’d take this loooong!” Her front hooves gave a pitiful little kick before letting body droop again. Plus Sunset thought this would have been a little more exciting! Not just…walk here and walk there. She could’ve just done that at home!

“Wake me up when we get there.” Of course, as she attempted to doze off the unicorn would start to slip from her position. A little more…a little more…just a tiny bit more and…
