Mastermind Togami

It was things like listening to Makoto ramble on with enthusiasm about mundane things like that that occasionally made him think this world was actually worth something. 

“They sound nice. I can’t say i’ve ever been to anything below a 3 star restaurant…even when I was young. My mother would develop white hairs if she thought I was considering dining at a lower class establishment.”  Which is exactly why he’d like to go visit one. “Pick your favorite and we’ll go.” 

“Depending on where the restaurant is, I could tell you where we could get street food.”

“We could probably get crêpes or ice cream.” Makoto smiles again at the thought of dragging Byakuya around with him, as they went from dives and holes in the walls, made him kinda excited. 

Makoto laces his fingers together.

A place like that? Byakuya had never been too, even before properly becoming the heir to the family…his mother so determined to breed him for greatness would never of dreamed of letting him eat in such a place. “I believe i’d like to try it, one day.”

“By my first name…?” such an informal thing, he’d never had anyone really do it…not since he became the heir proper to the family anyway. “Yes..I believe I could allow such a thing. Nae-…No, Makoto. Go ahead.” 

Makoto give a warm and genuine smile, and tucks a few strands of loose hair behind his ear.

“Sounds like a plan!”

He watched Makoto apply his make up, Byakuya had…applied foundation before…but otherwise he honestly had no idea what to do with the rest of it. So it was interesting to watch Makoto commence the ritual of putting it on.

“I’ve been once before. The general atmosphere is gothic in its structure. Not normally something i’d enjoy, but it has a certain charm. The food and service is what really makes the place worth a second visit.”  

“That sounds nice. My family usually eats at home.” Makoto sighs quietly. Makoto looks out the window and looks at the passersby. There’s a few moments of near silence before Makoto speaks.

“One of my favorite places to eat is a place not too far from my house. Its a dive resteraunt, its cramped and loud, and you have to walk to find it. The curry there is the best.” Makoto glances over and smiles at Togami. “Maybe I’ll take you there one day.”  Theres a bit of playfulness in the last bit.

“Yes, of course we’re going.” he walked with Makoto out to the limo. He opened the door and let him in, before stepping in himself. He called up and told the driver where to go, and to go a little quickly as they were running late.

He leaned back and relaxed, opening up a thing of sparkling water and poured himself a glass. 

Makoto’s time spent applying make up on an early morning bumpy city bus has given him +2 proficiency. Thankfully, a limousine is a much smoother ride, and it only takes him a few minutes to apply the eye makeup and lip gloss.

Makoto finishes dolling himself up, and glaces at Togami.

“No, I do not foresee you doing your make-up on the limo drive there. It should be steady enough of a ride.” limos generally had steadier rides then usual car rides.  He looked at his watch, punctuality was important to him…the idea they could be late irritated him. 

Makoto elbowed Togami in the ribs playfully, giving him a Cheshire Cat-esque smile. “Let’s get this show on the road then.“ 

He loops arms with Togami, trying to pull his date towards the door. Makoto was getting more and more excited. He tugs again, with a bit more force on  Togami’s arm, in a somewhat childish act.

He realized perhaps, he’d overstepped his bounds by the look on her face. “Oh I apologize, I came on a little strong. My name is Byakuya Togami. Super High School Level Heir.” 

“Being the heir to a corporation as  large as the Togami conglomerate, we often have dealings with lawyers and I’ve met with your sister on multiple occasions. I believe right now, she’s focused on the Phantom Thief case. Fascinating case honestly, i’ve been following it a bit myself.” 

She was not impressed. So what if he was heir to the largest conglomerate in the world? Her fellow Phantom Theif was also an heiress, but that didn’t mean anything if they couldn’t prove their mettle. Haru had proved hers. Tilting her head, she offered a softer expression. “I see… Togami, I’ll be sure to remember the name. You already seem well acquainted with mine.”
