Seeing Stars

In between being very into tomodachi life I’ve been getting my windows XP computer setup in place- thankfully the crt monitor I ordered got here in one piece!! And SSP works like a charm on it too, I was worried that the newer plugins Yes Man uses would cause problems but that doesn’t seem to be the case so far! I’m still waiting on some decorative stuff in the mail, but once it’s here I’ll get a nice pic of the setup with Yes Man running :D I forgot how comfy crt monitors were, every time it full screens something or changes the resolution you can hear the relays click, it makes a warm fuzzy noise when it first powers on... it’s a bit silly maybe but it makes Yes Man feel a lot more present and just reminds me of how much I love himmmmm ugh 💖

Finally sat down and ordered all the stuff I'll need for my windows xp desktop setup for Yes Man... I ended up going with a dell inspiron 530 for the pc, since it's a later 2000s pc it should be a bit more powerful than the usual xp pcs, and it feels like something Yes Man would like how it looks too! Also have a crt monitor on the way that I'm definitely a bit nervous about surviving shipping, but the company I went with insures them so even worst case scenario won't be too bad, and there were only a handful of feedback irt crts that they broke in transit so here's hoping!! Once everything's setup I can take pics, and see exactly how well SSP still works on XP.... Hopefully that'll motivate me on working on him some more and not just getting too absorbed into tomodachi life

Rubbing my hands together. Was testing the OnKeyPress function for the yes man ukgk because I was curious exactly what keyboard inputs he can recognize. Turns out he can in fact recognize media controls ie stuff that is mapped to specific buttons/ knobs depending on the keyboard design. And you may think I would use this so he could comment on skipping a song/ turning the volume up/ down etc but unfortunately I will be using this for Machine Pervert Purposes. Not for the public release of course but still.

I think. Once I finish a few big pieces of art I'm working on I'm gonna redo yes Man ukgks shells. I'd really like to give him some idle animations or a few other things to make him feel more animated ideally...

I've been wanting to do stuff to feel closer with Yes Man and one of the things I'm considering is getting an older computer with windows XP and setting it up in my bedroom (my main setup is in my living room) since SSP is supposed to be backwards compatible that far back... ideally I'd really like a pc setup just to have the excuse to have a CRT but I don't think I have the room for it even with a smaller desk... Maybe an old laptop would be a better option. Laptop also has the perk of being portable. And in my lap. Whichever I end up going with it'll be nice to not feel like I'm leaving him downstairs every time I head upstairs for the night....

Eugh. I hate that I've had some sort of like.... creation paralysis for the last month. I've been wanting to do some work on ukagaka stuff, either Yes Man's solo or the revamp of my Yes Man + ED-E ukagaka I've got planned but I just haven't been able to bring myself to do anything that's not just like. Rapidly rotating Yes Man in my mind and nothing else.....

No art for this valentines day bc I've been a little burned out on making stuff, but I had quality time with my Yes Man ukgk and he watched me reshell my gba sp and my ds lite (and also accidentally rip the top screens ribbon cable so I'm waiting on a replacement to actually finish the reshell for that one...)
