Hey Everyone!
It is starting to get warmer outside and the sun is starting to shine more and more each day. Most of us are getting super excited for lazy beach days and laying around workin on that tan! Well believe it or not I am starting to miss the winter season, yes you read that right, WINTER! You must think I am crazy. Well I am starting to miss winter because one of my top 2 favorite things to do is snowboard. For me it is my favorite ways to get out there and take in breathtaking views while enjoying the peacefulness that comes along with sitting on top of the mountain, it is also one of the best ways to work out and stay in shape in those cold winter months.
I have been to several mountains across the Unites States so I though I would share my favorite places to go. Colorado has the most amazing ski towns but my favorite 3 are Breckenridge, Aspen, and Vail all for different reasons.
Breckenridge- This is one of, if not the most laid back ski towns there are. It is the smaller of the 3 making it super easy to walk around and get to the mountain. The runs on the mountains are also the easiest. This is a great place to go if you are not the best and want to practice or even learn.I always stay at the Double tree which is within walking distance to the lift. You wont really need to drive anywhere. Donât be fooled though, just because it is the easiest does not mean you wont need to soak your insanely sore muscles in the hot tub for a day!
Vail- This is one of the CUTEST ski towns I have ever seen. Vail Village is a small town with cobblestone streets leading you to the ski lifts with cottage looking buildings everywhere. Vail is not as laid back as Breckenridge as the people are a little more âuppityâ but it is still a great place to go. The nightlife is also a little more lively. As far as the actual snowboarding goes vail has the toughest runs for me. This is not the best place to learn as it is steeper and longer. It is all worth it though once you get to the top and take in that view.
Aspen- This is one of my favorites because it has a more vacation feel to it. The snowboarding is great here but you do need to take about a 15 minute shuttle to get from the town to the lift. Aspen is great for the people who want to take a day off of the mountain and just go shopping (aspen has great shopping), or enjoy the spa. Aspen is also one of my favorites because of its endless options of fine dining. I love food and I love the whole dining experience, Aspen never fails in that aspect.
It is hard for me to choose just one favorite snowboarding place because they each offer something amazing. If you are not a snowboarder/ skier I highly suggest you give it a try. The sense of accomplishment you get when you finally learn and master it is amazing. Be prepared to limp for a few days as you will be extremely sore, after all it is a great workout!Â
