God forbid a woman want to have fun and write something campy after pouring out her deepest, darkest secrets

I knew it, I knew you really does feel like looking in the mirror after a long time of not seeing yourself, and then finally recognizing the person you used to know and it feels all okay again

the way this song is about toy story but also returning back to that tangle haired teenage girl who arrived in nashville with a dream and a mission

taylor’s ability to step into so many different soundscapes and personalities and moments is what makes her so gifted as a writer

this song is obviously not a lot like showgirl but i keep thinking about taylor saying she took a turn into esoteric music for awhile and then moved away from that, because this fits into that picture too. just has that sort of instant classic thing where you feel like you've heard it forever the first time you listen to it
