Two.

Tommy's fixing himself a cup of coffee at the station when Lucy clears her throat behind him.

"Kinard, someone is looking for you."

"Who?"

"Go outside and find out," she says, winking at him mischievously.

Tommy rolls his eyes and walks outside, widening his eyes as he spots a delivery person almost hidden behind a giant bouquet.

"Tommy Kinard?" The guy asks.

"Yeah, it's me," Tommy replies, voice trembling because no one has ever given him flowers before and he feels like crying on the spot. He reaches a hand out and grabs the bouquet of lilies and peonies, bringing it closer to his face so he can let the smell wash over him. It's wonderful.

He thanks the delivery guy and goes back inside, nose still buried into the petals. Everyone whistles when he passes by but he just ignores them, floating in his happy little bubble.

Once he's back into the empty kitchen, he grabs the little envelope pinned to ribbon holding the bouquet together and reads the note inside.

"Happy (second) six months anniversary. I love you with all my heart. - Evan."

He takes a pic of the bouquet and then of himself holding the flowers, then texts them both to his boyfriend.

"Thank you for the flowers, they're gorgeous. Happy six months anniversary, sweetheart. I love you."

Three.

Tommy's barely holding himself up when he gets home after a grueling shift. He was supposed to be home hours ago but the shift ran over and he really needs a long, warm shower before he can feel human again.

"Hey, honey," Buck says, meeting him in the hallway. He waits until Tommy steps out of his boots and jacket and then hugs him.

Tommy melts into the embrace and rests his head on Buck's shoulder.

"Come on, I ran you a warm bath."

"How are you even real?" Tommy mumbles, pressing a kiss to Buck's neck. "Thank you, sweetheart. You're so good at surprising me."

"I like surprising you," Buck says, running a hand through Tommy's hair. "I also started cooking dinner, so you might wanna go and enjoy your bath while I get food ready."

"You're the best," Tommy says, then kisses him on the lips and strides towards the bathroom, ready to enjoy his warm bath.

He never thought he could have someone as thoughtful and loving as Evan. His future has never looked brighter.

Buck steps into a pair of loose sweatpants and grabs a t-shirt from Tommy's side of the closet, then goes back to the bathroom to dry and style his hair.

When he's done, he walks down the hallway to join Tommy on the couch. It's movie night and it's Tommy's turn to pick so Buck already knows they're gonna watch a Rom-Com.

But Tommy's not on the couch. Tommy's standing in the middle of the hallway, hand extended towards him, looking at him like he hung the moon.

As soon as he gets closer, Tommy laces their fingers together and squeezes, then goes down on one knee, leaving Buck speechless.

"Marry me, Evan," Tommy says, looking into his eyes. "I had a whole plan, I wanted to wait until next week so I could ask on our three year anniversary but I couldn't wait anymore and I think nothing is better than asking you here, in the place we've been calling home for the past two years. You're home, Evan. And I know this is not the perfect proposal, we are wearing sweatpants and there are no candles or flowers or a romantic atmosphere but I don't want perfect, I just want us, for the rest of my life."

Tommy's eyes sparkle as he reaches into his pocket. He disentangles their fingers for just a second to open the blue velvet box, then squeezes Buck's hand again.

"I want everything with you, Evan, and I can't wait for you to be my husband so… Will you marry me?"

Buck's crying by the time Tommy's finished talking. He really didn't see this coming, they've been talking about getting married but he didn't think Tommy would ask him on a random Monday, in their home. It's the best surprise ever. "Of course I'll marry you, Tommy. Of course I'll say yes to a lifetime of us," he says, voice trembling. "I want everything with you and I can't wait to be your husband, I can't wait to call you my husband."

Tommy smiles softly and slides the ring around Buck's finger, then kisses it and stands up, wrapping him in a hug.

"I love you, Tommy," Buck whispers in his ear.
