Honestly, didn't get around to that pinned post because my squirrel brain started to hyperfixate on a different interest.. do not ask me please. I feel a bit insane over it. (It's also not really that interesting) At least I got the title screen "done" (nothing ever feels done) and I got progress on the scheduling results screen. I'd drawn out both public speaking and art but there's so many more to do...haven't coded the results screen in yet but that title screen is shoved in! I've also changed the art for Quinn.. unsure if this is the direction I want to go with the art but I'm also wanting to MOVE ON alrdy so it might just stick. It's not bad anyhow. I was too lazy...to hide the text so...look away. It's still placeholders..

I’ve been pondering on whether I should keep this account more “professional” or casual and I think I’ll settle for semi-casual. I don’t want to make it impossible to find my gamedev posts but I do love to reblog things. A lot.

I’m also thinking to make a pinned post once I have the character busts done that introduces the game’s plot and characters.. I’d realized the other day that I’ve yet to clearly state what my game is even about yet!!! Lmao. I’ve also seen several tumblr posts that have cute little borders and gfx in them that I wanna do for the eventual pinned..☺️ I’m happy that coming to tumblr gives me inspiration in many ways.. I love indies so so much. I LOVE ART SO MUCH.

Last week’s work has been the character art for status screens. I’ve gotten all of them sketched and have been tweaking designs and redrawing some when I dislike them a bit too much.. it really helps to leave them alone for a day or two before I look at them again because I grow blind to so many of my mistakes if I try to finish everything in one sitting.

I’m still struggling with accepting the limits of my skill level but I’m also loving the progress I make and seeing art of my characters in general. Gotta make my own food when I’m the only cook in the kitchen!! And hey, I’m not that bad at it.. drawing that is. I’m just on that lifelong quest of being better.

I’ve also spent some time toying with a few potential coloring styles but that is still tbd. Can’t say I’m finding any success with finding a particular finish for the arts that I want, but I’m learning to enjoy the process by letting myself cut back on the rush.. I really want to complete a demo soon but this is a game I want to be able to enjoy playing because technically!!! I’m making it for MYSELF! And maybe that one other person, whom I’ve yet to meet, whose tastes align with mine. This is for YOU, MY BELOVED!

So far, gamedev has been rather lonely and much of it feels like I’m talking to myself 90% of the time.. and so! Going to take a wee break for a few days in this coming week so I don’t burn myself out too early! But I do want to finish a title screen/logo by next week at the least!!

Might also take the time to search up sfx bc I haven’t even begun looking for that and it’ll give me a break from staring at my art so much.
