wind magic is haunting.

it’s the core of silesia and fury had always looked up to it, curious if her father had been skilled like levin. the liberation army was full of surprises and it was nice to learn more of jugdral, there were people from almost everywhere. it was nice to know that ( the air is different but welcoming ) and as much as she misses home, there’s a lot to learn.

  she knows feeling disheartened no one from sigurd’s army has appeared will solve nothing. but the loneliness echoes whenever she walks to the barricades. some of her comrades had met people from their world and she wishes her happiness for them could balance her sadness.

  maybe, some training would distract her.

         ❝ excuse me— ❞

  she almost misses the person she bumps into. green hair is common in this army but the sudden feeling of dread is new. her feet halt abruptly and hesitantly, she turns around and looks at the stranger in the eye.

  her lance almost falls to the floor.

  failure.

  it always plagued her — from the moment she started as apegasus knight to queen consort. before reuniting with levin, fury was mildabout her fear but when she found him, it was a big mess. she had always knownto keep her duty before her heart. it was easier earlier since she couldpretend it was a childhood crush and her feelings could cloud her judgment. meetinglevin again meant to put her feelings aside and stay to support him.

  if she got distracted, anything could happen to him andshe would never forgive herself.

  in her mind, if she was inadequate as a pegasus knight,what was there left? the people she treasured the most — mahnya and levin —needed someone to support them. if she failed, she would have no right orreason to stand by them. failure meant she was incapable of doing anythingright.

  when she became queen consort, the fear became worse.levin was gone and she had to raise her children without him. as for silesia,she had to deal with the treat of the empire. if she failed, everyone of hersubjects would suffer because of her actions. it was a larger scale and she hadto swallow the insecurities, the sentimentality, and the warmth to protect herpeople.

  the outfit fits him.

  if she was someone else, she would think he was another bard. her memory is reliable but her heart tells her it can only be him and it’s comforting to have him nearby. being away from silesia is an experience and everything is a constant reminder she is no longer home. and maybe, that’s why her mouth opens and the word comes out.

  a slip of tongue. she immediately regrets it and looks anywhere but him. it was easy to forget to treat him as a comrade and for a second, fury wonders how she’s going to survive at listening to her voice of reason scowl her. duty is harder than people give it credit for.

         ❝ i-i mean, levin… i was going to ask if you’re cold. ❞

  it’s a silly excuse. or it should be. but she is genuine ( without making a joke of herself ) and her sigh reflects on her conflict. a hand moves to her face and she pulls her bangs away. stress is nothing unusual and being a soldier has been so far a decent life. it had been unexpected, out of everything to bring her down was—

  travelling is hard.

  her fellow pegasus knights and their mounts need a rest. logically, she knows leaving silesia would be a hard journey ( a mission is a mission ) but the weather has been a radical change for everyone. if the prince was anywhere, she hoped levin was faring better than her. letting out a sigh, fury wipes some sweat from her face and strolls to the nearest town.

         ❝ excuse me? could you tell me where is the nearest tavern? ❞

                                     the villagers back home had been right. learning to cook was cheaper than paying for a meal.

  staying in an inn was reasonable. they could afford it, the problem was their mounts and nothing was cheap. there was always a catch for everything. the weather was still messing with her and her comrades, what was she supposed to do?

  maybe, a job or two would keep their budget safe until they arrived to agustria.

  she should have known ( her soft spot is the culprit )but she waits. the song makes no sense and that’s probably the intention.still, her smile is sheepish and she wonders if levin fell and hurt his head.whatever had happened those years had been—
