i know rocky still technically got to play with the measuring tape in the movie but the way it happened in the book always makes me smile when I read it. :]

DRG players have taken to making their characters salute whenever:

a new player joins their game

whenever the team completes an objective, or kills a tough enemy

whenever a player revives them

whenever the team completes the entire mission

whenever anyone does something cool

whenever they successfully piss off mission control

or even just… whenever someone else salutes. even if literally nothing happened to warrant the saluting. even when there's a good chance the first salute was an accident.

this creates an environment where the players are constantly and endlessly CELEBRATING each other’s company, all in a game about mining stuff and shooting alien bugs in the face.

it immediately establishes a sense of camaraderie with people you’ve never met, and i think it’s beautiful how this game encourages uplifting each other.

a headcanon of mine is that, due to the time alastor came from, he has the subconscious idea (which hes trying to work on but it's been ingrained within him since he was born on earth and hes only seen some of the worst people that do believe that in hell when he came) that a partner must fulfill their lover's sexual needs (among with you know, a bunch of mysoginistic stay at home wife shit), so whether he masks or likes it or not hes kinda insecure of whenever he feels icked out by sex or the idea of sex and tries to force it still, i also like the idea that he does sometimes have sexual relations with vox when he's not icked out about it but not due to arousal, more of teasing vox and seeing him happy and in a good mood after :]

oh and by the way—vox spoiled the shit out of alastor after that, because al seemed to still be annoyed (aka hurt but trying to hide that hes hurt💀) about what he said, they went to an antique store and vox got al a little room for him to chill at the vee tower when al's over and he's busy, dating the CEO of voxtek has its perks!
