Why does everyone think they have madd all of a sudden? My friend, who doesn't know I have madd, sent me a tweet and said "Look I think I have this because I daydream so much, isn't that cool" ??? And I did explain what it is to her because I thought maybe she did have it but turns out she just daydreams when she's bored or wants to fall asleep. Anyway, I'm not saying these people can't have maladaptive daydreaming but most of them are diagnosing themselves without knowing all the symptoms of madd because it's not just "daydreaming a lot".

This can sometimes irritate me when they actually think it's just a "fun" thing to do,, like no, if ur gonna say I have the disorder, pls know that madd is something that's def far more than just daydreaming

Exactly. I'm guessing they only mean the "daydreaming" part and not the disorder itself and all the things that come with it. Otherwise that's weird as hell.

God this is so infuriating but the worst thing is that she thought it was cool???? What???? Ugh god schools REALLY need to teach about mental health, as early as possible!!! Seriously!! So much of the world's problems would be solved if schools taught about equality and health and actually important things instead of trigonometry and yada yada Shakespeare bs

I agree. Schools only talk about these things when something happens and then they stop after a few days.
