[roaring like a dragon] i am powerful and unstoppable

When it was discovered that Zalim (ironically meaning, cruel) was in the company of two very young cubs, those at Ranthambore feared the worst: that, as an adult male, he would kill them. Instead, he surprised naturalists with his “motherly” behavior when he took in his twin daughters following the death of their mother.
At this time, science stated that tigers were only as social as mothers and cubs could go and that tiger fathers rarely interacted with their offspring. Zalim changed that when he was witnessed, month after month, caring for his daughters and teaching them how to hunt. Their relationship eventually ceased when the two girls were shifted to Sariska Tiger Reserve and Zalim went on to father another litter with the then-dominant tigress Sundari, the so-called Lady of the Lakes. When she too mysteriously disappeared, Zalim unsurprisingly took care of their cubs as well.

Design-ovember Day 13 - Basilisk
Lovely creatures, basilisk are! I tend to miss-say their name as baskilisk, constantly, it just flows off the tongue better! Anyways here’s a rocky boy who’s got some good grub from some unfortunate passerby person

I made some project hail Mary inspired earrings!! They're super time consuming to make lol each spike had to be individually hammered I'm pretty sure I'm missing a couple fingers now :p these are surprisingly not super heavy and aren't as sharp as they look :3

the wisdom ive learnt is that becoming part of a friend group 1) takes a long time and 2) involves a lot of feeling awkward and left out at first. there’s nothing terrible about this but if you grew up chronically lonely or have any kind of trauma relating to social isolation this likely feels Really Wrong and activates danger signals. but both fortunately and unfortunately it’s just how becoming close to new people works most of the time
another thing that was not intuitive to me as someone who grew up an autistic loner: basically everyone on the planet is starved for connection all the time and almost everything people do is an attempt to reach out to another. most seemingly illogical interactions and behaviours can be explained by this. you have to take as many of these invitations as you can. even if you're wrong you still attempted to bring more warmth into the world
just a little boy

I will never again achieve the level of Raw Power I had as a 10 year old child trying to convince an Actual Palaeontologist that a fake dinosaur I made up was actually real and he’d “just never heard of it”
For reference, the dinosaur in question was called “Jarabosaurus” and was a giant 25 metre long relative of Spinosaurus. In my head it looked like this Todd Marshall drawing:
I also made a powerpoint presentation about it that I showed to my parents.
THIS IS A PRIORITY ONE ALERT, I HAVE FOUND THE POWERPOINT
So I dug the old family laptop out of our garage and guess what was inside???
A masterpiece
Also Author’s note, take literally everything in here with so many grains of salt, way more stuff than I realised is completely fake
This at least is mostly factually correct, though I’m not sure I’d describe WW2 as “lately”
Hey remember when I said I made stuff up?? This slide is COMPLETELY FAKE and I have no idea why!
Formatting is my passion
There he is!!!!!! The man, the myth, the completely made up legend, it’s JARABOSAURUS ADORANUS. I,,, still don’t know why I invented a totally fake giant spinosaurid?? As far as I can remember I didn’t make any decision like “hehehe I’m going to make up a dinosaur and fool everyone!!!”, I just kinda,,, added it to the presentation with no further thought?
So what I’m saying is Jarabosaurus sprang totally unbidden to my mind, and it possibly a vision from an alternate universe
(A) Wow, I was on top of the Baryonyx/Suchomimus debate at age ten, that’s pretty impressive! (B) Did I just think every North African dinosaur was destroyed in World War 2??? Suchomimus was discovered in 1998
And finally, ending on what is possibly the most factually accurate slide of the lot?? Like this was an actual thing, Siamosaurus was at one point hypothesised to have actually been a fish
Thank you so much for coming on this journey with me! I am glad we could delve into the wilderness that was my 10 year old child mind.
@un-dead-alchemy He looked very confused and said “I’ll uh,,, have to look it up later?”
once again compelled to inform everyone about my spinosaur lies because I remembered that this was a thing that I did. also because I wanted to share the other beautiful fake dinosaurs that I found in the notes:
@thehardboiledham @doodlepede @heroicspiritcollins our beautiful fake dinosaurs are frolicking together in imaginary dinosaur world
How would you describe a dragon to someone who has never seen a dragon?
"Horse but make it a lizard and give it bat wings and horns"
didnt know how to interpret "make it a lizard" so i wrote lizard and drew an arrow pointing to the horse so people know its a lizard. Also didn't know what bat horns were so I gave it a horned bat nose
"A body like a big cat but completely covered in scales, the head of a crocodile with the horns of an ibex, and the wings of a bat on its back"
On it boss o7, ive mashed all these animals together and threw scales all over it. This the dragon you saw?
"Take a lizard, extend the neck. Add a pair of bat wings to the back. Add horns and sharp teeth."
Seems like we're onto somethin' boss! Though idk how it'd be so fearsome bein such a small thing.
"Big-ass lizard with wings" "big lizard" "Giant lizard" "Big fucking lizard"
don't seem too special?
"Imagine a winged alligator that was 70 feet tall and aware of its existence"
i dont know if this is a dragon but it could definitely be some kind of god
"Dinosaur with wings and horns?"
Dunno which dino you were talkin about so i just picked a random one. Stegosauus :}
"Big snake with legs and horns that can breathe fire"
Ah. Hm.
"A dragon is like a tree, in that it's a made up category for a broadly similar type of mythological creature that has no relationship to other dragons, but you know a dragon when you see one the way you know a tree when you see one."
