im glad that my extended family seem to be vaguely aware that im nonbinary but it makes christmas funny because most of my aunts have a very simply formula of "the girls get perfume and the boys get cologne" . and they seem to have realised they cant really do that for me, but havent come up with a consistent genderless solution yet. so each year is a delightful surprise. plain unbranded soap. those gloves with touch screen fingerpads. one year i got TWO different puzzle books. its a fascinating look into the minds of cis people and i appreciate it so much.

Do we have any advice for the young trans woman besides yelling "start hrt" at her

be really really consistent with self gendering - it may feel weird at first but use your nouns - " I'm his sister", " I'm her daughter", " I'm an actress" - don't start with "bitch"

remember that every feminist principle you hold for cis women ALSO extends to you as a trans woman; and that there is no right or wrong way to be a woman, only expectations imposed on us by people we have no obligation to perform for. also, genuinely: have fun and be yourself, experiment and grow and reflect and look weird sometimes, but find joy in finding what it all means to you. you've got nothing you need to be and can take it wherever you wanna go 👍🏾

my favourite part of ao3 not having an algorithm is that i can click on any random fic, out of whatever curiosity (morbid or otherwise) i may have on a whim, knowing I won't spend the next three months having ''similar'' content constantly shoved in my face in a desperate attempt to keep me engaged while i stab the not interested button over and over with a growing rage bubbling beneath my skin
