🌸 She’d spent perhaps an hour or two explore her new, unfamiliar environment. This city was no island, no base, and it didn’t even carry the scent of the ocean with which she was so familiar. It went without saying that she hadn’t encountered a single familiar face. Without an ocean there were no Abyssals, and without Abyssals there was no need for fleet girls. So… why was she here?
Yamato couldn’t help but hold onto hope that she’d encounter someone she knew, but between the various unique individuals that were scattered throughout the city streets, chances looked slim.
“A-Admiral!?” But as if fate itself had shone upon her, familiar garb on the horizon caught her eye, provoking the ship to move forward at high speeds. Okay… she was running. She stopped just short of the woman, her umbrella twirling between nervous fingers as bright eyes took in the other woman’s appearance. “…It really is! I’m so glad!”
Eh?
Her hand had been in a bag of chips. Her bottle of soda sat on the seat besides her all but forgotten and she was certainly not expecting to look up and be greeted by Yamato of all ships.
“Um... Are you... uh... Are you calling me, y-your admiral?” A voice shaking with emotion as Watabe’s bag of chips dropped to the floor as well. The admiral stood up and extended a hand covered with chip dust forward.
“Uh... I-I I’m Watabe, I wasn’t aware that I had a large scale construction in progress but it is my pleasure to serve as your commanding officer.” Because after all, Yamato was a prize she could lord over all the other admirals back home... If she ever made it back.
