What beautiful colouring. The dove that flies through the scene is a reference to the story of Noah in the bible, in which a dove was sent out after the flood and returned after forty days with an olive leaf, signifying new life. Of course the rain in the episode wasn’t that bad, but it’s fun none the less.

Agnes continues to gripe about the bath pillow, something that carries on later in the series. Edna shoots off pretty quick when Marge arrives, implying she’s done something wrong, though I wouldn’t like to speculate what. Moe is here too, for some reason. He’s in quite a lot of the second half of the episode.

Funnily enough, we’ve seen the crown and sceptre before, during Lisa’s nightmare in THoH II, only on that occasion, Kodos was wearing them. I like that this time Kang has the chance to be ruler of earth. He’s certainly doing better than Kodos did. Nice continuity with the crashed ship in the background. Clearly, they’re not too bothered about recovering it. One thing bugs me, however: Marge shouldn’t be in the final scene. Homer landed in Washington, not Springfield, so how did she get there? I can forgive that, however, because she sets up Homer’s excellent final line.
