I remembered my headcanons about neiljean and decided to translate them using a translator, so ✨️

1⃣ Nathaniel ignores the phrase "I love you"; for him, these words are just empty words. Since childhood, this phrase has been twisted and inverted for him; since childhood, the words "I love you" have been accompanied by violence, lies, and inevitable pain.

For Jean, however, these words mean everything. He had a sister whom he loved to the point of madness, so Jean told Elodie every morning and every night how much he loved her, and she reciprocated. Words of love in his life were always accompanied by sincere care and affection.

Actually, it's kind of funny that when they're asked questions like, "Aren't you jealous?", they're genuinely perplexed because they genuinely don't understand what that feeling means, having never experienced it. It's also funny because Jean is naturally very amorous and, unlike Nathaniel, can fully appreciate people's physical attractiveness. And this still doesn't bother Nathaniel, because in addition to being amorous, Jean is also infinitely loyal.

4⃣ They don't believe in the phrase "if you love, let go" (if they both love), and will fight for their love even if that struggle leads to their deaths.

5⃣ Jean loves to sing, but is shy and even afraid of it, having been told to keep his mouth shut his entire childhood. 1⃣0⃣ Jean loves flowers. Any kind. However, he hates having to deal with them. Nathaniel loves Jean, so he's the one who handles the flowers. Not a day goes by without fresh flowers in a vase in their house. They're always prominently displayed in every room, so Jean can come up to them at any moment and sniff them to death.

Then Neil awkwardly began to look away, seeking some solace in Andrew's imperturbable face, while the child continued to stare at him, barely blinking. What troubled Neil most was that he couldn't understand the child's expression. Children's facial expressions are usually predictable—fear, disgust, embarrassment, curiosity. Neil encountered similar expressions almost daily and had long since stopped paying attention, but this child's face was completely expressionless.
