āSawyer is very special,ā Emil agreed, his quiet, low tone a sign of the fact that he didnāt talk about these things often. He wasnāt ashamed of love, though. Some people thought it made you weak, but he disagreed. His lovers made him strong.Ā āYouāll like her, then. Sheās very⦠demanding. Her brother is almost as bad.ā If someone had told him even just a few months ago that he would be discussing Sawyerās catsā personalities like this, he would have punched them, probably. But, he had really grown quite fond of them, somewhere along the way.
There were a few moments of silence after Addison spoke, the vampire still looking down at their hands. But, finally, he managed to look up at her and keep his eyes on her, no matter how much he wanted to hide the vulnerability he was sure was in his eyes.Ā āI did it to myself, you know. I deserve the pain Iām in now.ā For an addict, he had a controversial view on addiction, but he didnāt dwell on it long.Ā āYour company is more than enough.ā Emotionally, Emil was the equivalent of a giant pile of goo right now. It was one reason he wasnāt really going out in public or dealing with business things yet.Ā āIām just kind of tired and weak, mostly. I really only feel sick when Iām around werewolves, so Iām trying not to be. But, since Iāve always liked wolf blood, a lot of my friends are wolves, and that makes avoiding them a little more difficult.ā He cleared his throat and shook his head, ready to change the subject for the time being. Just confessing it had been more than enough for him.Ā āAnyway, whatās new with you, Princess?ā
Addison smile a quiet sort of inward smile. She was happy to hear that, to know he had someone special to him. To know that someone was close by who made him happy. She wished she could express it more that that, but she didnāt want to embarrass him.Ā āI generally like cats. I think...I think when I get a pet for my own it will probably a cat.ā She nodded as she lifted her eyes to his and nodded her head. Her features softened a little as she listed to him discussing the animals.Ā āAw, they are siblings,ā she turned her head looking off in the direction the animal traveled.Ā āI always wanted a brother growing up. Someone to make me feel less lonely or whatever...ā she trailed of before turning her attention back to Emil.Ā
She watched him with cautious eyes as he looked down at their hands. Her breath came quietly and shallow. it was small even breaths. Her thump traced along his knuckles in a soothing manner. He was being so kind...tender even. As she listened to him, blaming himself, and blaming the pain as that of his own making, she wanted to argue, she felt it somewhere low, in her core. But she was unable to argue it. But she disagreed for some reason. Her eyebrows knitted together. Her hand reached up and cupped the side of his face, her fingers lightly curling around his jaw as she leaned in closer. She swiftly kissed his cheek before sitting upright, it was odd, but for some reason she felt a need to do it. She lowered her hand, placing it on her lap.Ā āS-sorry,ā she muttered, quietly. She took a deep breath and pushed her hair out of her face.Ā āIāve been...weird. Yāknow that feeling, where you arenāt sure where you fit, and when you think about it, you just feel really lonely?ā She looked at Emil with a sort of curious expression as she burred her lips releasing a heavy sigh.Ā āSo instead Iāve beenĀ āmaking artā whatever that means. Just taking a lot of photos and trying to be inspired.āĀ
