In this scene, his hair is slicked back and very neat - almost exactly the same style as Sauron's.

After stabbing Sauron he never quite wears it the same way again; immediately after the deed, strands hang over his face and the hair is not tucked behind his ears anymore. And that change remains through the rest of the series, he never wears the same strict, 'ordered' hairstyle again.

Even later, the closest seems to be him wearing his hair like this:

And even then there is some hair in front of his face, and it is never as neat and tidy as in the flashback again.

My conclusion would be that either, the change in how he wears his hair is meant to show that Adar has changed and turned away from Sauron - a visual distinction to show that they are not alike -, or to show that Sauron controlled him/that he had to try and appeal to Sauron's sense of order in order to survive, and has finally managed to escape that.

Blushing. Elrond goes redder than rubies very easily. He gets called handsome, his robes complimented, his writing praised, any kind of compliment will make him blush.

Hiccups. It scares the living daylights out of fully-fledged Elves, they used to think he was choking. On many an occasion Elrond has eaten too quickly before attending a meeting and had to step outside when he keeps interrupting. Galadriel sometimes takes it upon herself to frighten it out of him, it doesn't often work but it is funny.

Ears. The ears of fully-fledged Elves move to express emotion. For Elrond it is only his left and only when he is happy. It adds to the lopsided nature of his smile.

Only one dominant hand. He is not ambidextrous. Once, he was given a left-handed bow which he ended up holding upside down.

Someone-walked-on-your-grave? That weird twitch in the spine one has to shiver out? Yeah that's gotten him some weird looks before.

Facial hair. There's a whole thing about if Elrond had facial hair or not, I'll leave it to everyone else to choose.

Sensitivity to the cold. While Galadriel is waltzing around in a summer dress mid-winter, Elrond is bundled in either cloaks or blankets and stood directly by the fire.

Stomach rumbling. Yet another Mannish feature that makes council meetings a little more entertaining, particularly for Gil-Galad, who passes Elrond the occasional snack he habitually keeps at his desk. It also makes Gil-Galad let out a rare laugh. It confuses visitors when an odd noise interrupts and the high-king just passes his Herald a grape.

Laughing (p2). Elrond is known for letting out the odd snort when he laughs but he is also known for having the most beautiful laugh in Lindon. They think it is something to do with his mortal side, the merriment that shines through mixing with the melodical elven side that joined together brings forth purest joy.
