as an atheist surrounded by christians, sometimes i like to pretend that the afterlife is like…a tv show i haven’t watched, but i’m surrounded by people in the fandom

from what i’ve heard, The Afterlife is a hazily plotted & discontinued show whose fans have been waiting millennia for the next season. in the meantime the fandom has devolved into violent in-fighting over headcanons & fan theories, with people receiving targeted harassment for their AUs & canon analysis. there’s an insane amount of discourse about which characters ended up in heaven or hell, and which ones will come back to life in the next season, even though no one’s sure if the show itself has even been renewed. none of the creators can be reached for comment
