there’s a better way to ask someone something personal about themselves without being insensitive about it, and it really shows when people never grew up being taught about manners and how to approach a question like that.
like, if you say something like “What’s up with those spots?” I’m immediately going to assume you’re a prick with no manners compared to saying something like “Hey, I was just curious about something, and you don’t have to answer if it’s too personal, but blah blah blah.”
it’s even worse when the ask my brother instead of me. On the one hand, I get it. It’s awkward to ask someone about it. But if you’re not going to ask the person your targeting in the first place, then the really isn’t any reason to ask anyone.
