My main take away from But Im A Cheerleader right after watching it might be suprising (idk that for sure, since i just wathced it, but ya never know) but... its lowkey a sad and bittersweet story
Like, most of the kids at the camp either quit or are thrown out, which most likely means they have nowhere to go... unless they can find older supportive queers like Megan and Dolph did
The movie ends with the main character getting the girl and runnig away together... While the remaining kids at true directions complete thier "graduation"
The conversion therapy camp isnt destroyed, or overthrown, or discredited - it will probably continue for years or decades after Megan and Graham escape...
BUT
even still, as long as those lucky few kids manage to escape this awful system, it is still a victory, no matter how small in the grand scheme of things it is - even if not everyone could have been saved
