I am whatever I am

Why would Eden want someone like me getting good with this stuff when they are a doomsday cult? Well, isn't it obvious? So like Eden, once the COI "rescued" me, they saw my skills and decided that after some "reprogramming" I could easily adapt into their future society. Sort of.

Though we've managed to get out of this endless void, we managed to find life again on a planet almost closed off from the rest of the planetary system it was part of. Capitalism reigns supreme here and while many of those in the COI were able to find their way off the planet and to better lives on any, literally any other planet out there, I remain trapped here in this fun little hell hole known as Ashrak.

In Ashrak the work you do are paid in hours and hours pays for everything. And I do mean everything. From basic commodities to comfort items, food, water, and yes even sleep, they are all paid for in hours. It's all monitored through a bracelet that you can't take off, not unless you manage to afford your ticket off of this hellhole.

The better paying jobs will give you more hours despite being there for less time where the lower paying jobs will pay you less. So not even working one hour will qualify for one payment hour. Needless to say, I'm paid the very base of what's allowed. And that's because this tiny, very annoying faction of the COI decided to remain behind because yes, you guessed it, they crave power and power needs money.

I remain a prisoner of theirs, forced to work for basement pay and while I do have a little spot here to call my own, I can't do much. I own very little. Hell, I can barely afford to sleep more than five hours a day and that's if I'm lucky.

But hey, I suppose I deserve this. I am the reason why we landed on this planet in the first place.

Then Simon sent the blanket through the portal, hoping that it would arrive intact.

Niel paced about his small room and waited for the portal to appear. His heart raced the moment it did and he stepped towards it. Everything that they had exchanged through the portal had worked so maybe this one would as well.

The blanket suddenly appeared and Niel grabbed it. Everything looked in order and he read the note over. A smile touched the corners of his lips and he held it tight in his hand.

Hello! Mun here is over the age of 25! I will try to be swift with replies but given that I am pretty busy with work it may not always be immediate! While Niel is based in Iron Lung, he is an original character and none of his adventures are anywhere close to canon. Writing length varies so don't feel that you need to write as much as me. I will try to match your length of writing but I will need something more than just a single word or three or five. Please give me something to work with.

You're welcome to be part of the dystopian world that is Ashrak but if you set your character up there, please be aware that this is a place that I created and there are existing rules and a "functioning" government there but as long as you work within the workforce payment structure that I've established you should be fine.
