“Sounds pretty good. Good change of pace,” she nodded as she listened to the girl. “I love pizza and pasta. It is so beautiful, though I was a little young for the men,” she chuckled lightly. “Well… I’m pregnant.”

"you are? well that’s amazing, right?” a smile appeared on her face. alice was always so happy to hear when people are expecting a baby. she loves to watch woman having a certain glow over their aura & doing everything they can to keep the baby healthy. she always found those women the strong ones amongst the female population. “congratulations.”

“True, true. Human nature,” he nodded, unable not to let out a laugh when the girl snorted. “As classy as I remember,” he grinned at her. “Yeah, what I keep telling myself. I know I do want to fix things eventually though, or at least try to.” He looked at her. “Well, she pretty much put my stepdad before me… the rest doesn’t matter. But I hope so.” He laughed, a little smirk playing on his lips. “Yeah, girlfriend. You surprised?”

 “hey! i’m the classiest woman you have ever met,” she sarcastically said, obviously implying that she was joking about being the classiest one. “i’m sure you’ll get a chance to fix things with you mom. and hopefully it’ll turn out the way you wanted to.” she told him, looking at him while she did. “it’s weird how we always want our parents to do the right thing by us, because that’s what we expect them to do, to put us before anyone else. i guess that’s why it stings when they don’t.” shrugging her shoulders at her own words and gazing down at her feet for a split second, before matching up with his gaze again. “actually, not at all. i’m happy to hear that the city is treating you well.” 

“Something like that, I guess,” he sighed. “I’m a bodyguard, actually.”

“well that sounds intrestring, if you ask me.” she said. “i mean, it’s not really an average job and i can imagine the variety you have in the job. You like being a bodyguard?”

“Well sounds like you have a lot of fun over the last few years?” He said with a smile. “What brings you back to the big apple though?”

 “yeah, lots of fun. it was very ..      refreshing to go places where no one really knows you.” she said, smiling as she did. “i guess i missed being at home. being surrounded by my family and friends. what brings you to this city? i believe i’ve never seen you before.” 

“Unless someone is antisocial,” he shrugged. “But that definitely does not describe me.” He laughed as she rolled her eyes. “Sadly not, love. Sorry,” he fake pouted. “Yeah, it did suck. I still haven’t sorted things with my mum, it was pretty shit. But that’s true. I do like it here. And I am. I’ve got a pretty decent job, I’ve got friends, a girlfriend.” 

“still, i believe there’s an healthy side to every human that loves every bit of attention they get. i know i do. ” and she was not ashamed of admitting that she loves attention. a small snort escaped from her when he put on the fake pout, “too bad.” alice could relate to the parent drama and not having things sorted out with her dad as well, “maybe it’s not the right time to sort things out with her, yet. some things take time, i guess.” she shrugged her shoulders, “i mean i don’t know what went on and neither do i want to know because it’s your life. but your mom will eventually come to terms as well as you, and then you’ll be able to sort things out,” she said. “It’s good to hear that you like it here. really.” a smile appeared on her face upon hearing he was liking it here. “ a girlfriend? look at you,” nudging him with her elbow as she laughed. 

“That’s great then–good for you. Not much of an interesting story. I moved here for work.”

 “aren’t you committed to your job then, if you moved all the way from madrid to manhattan. what kind of work do you do?”

Jake smiled at the other. “Where have you been if you don’t mind me asking?” He said. “Wait, what I should be saying is, Welcome home!” 

 “ no, of course - it’s fine. i’ve been travelling through europe. Then stayed in amsterdam for a while, before returning back here,” alice smiling in return. “ it’s fine, really. but thank you for welcoming me back.” 

I have to admit some  people may surprise you around here.  Everyone has flaws, but some people just care it all depends what that person is over though. I say just look at some people because it’s all about gossip.

“ no doubt in people surprising you around here. however, i don’t think people around here grow to be nicer just because they want to. if anything, they grow more corrupt by the day if it wasn’t for gossip girl ruining their lives. but like i said, i could be wrong and this town really could have changed for the better. ” 

“if i were you i’d to try to keep it that way.” while many aspects of the upper east side had stayed the same— a lot of stuff had also changed since she’d fled the city. their faithful frenemy, gossip girl, being one of them. over the past couple of years the brunette had watched as gossip girl had changed her tactics, once upon a time she seemingly knew where to draw the line when it came to disrupting their lives, but these days it was as if the rules of her game had changed. it would appear that nobody was safe & nothing was off limits to her. given the other girls past, the brunette couldn’t help but think that maybe it was best she avoided gossip girls grip for as long as possible. “you should’ve called sooner, we could’ve celebrated your return in true upper east side tradition; with debauchery, and lots of alcohol.” he grinned to himself. “me? living the high life, literally & figuratively. really, strangely life is treating me really well these days.”

 “ honestly, i don’t think anyone can pull it of to stay off gossip girl’s radar. i’m just hoping it’s later than sooner. ” not that she cared if anything got published about her; she has a clean slate and she’d like to keep it that way. however, she’s aware of how ruthless gossip girl is and the person behind it won’t stop for nothing and will find out something about your life that can tear you apart. “ oh no, no welcoming back party for me. i just wanted some quite time with my family & settle in again. ” even though she found it dreadful being back here, there was some part of her that was happy to be back in the city she grew up in. it was refreshing to see friendly faces again. “ you know i don’t do alcohol. not since jonathan died.” there was a certain sadness clouded over her voice when she spoke off jonathan. she had to avoid talking about him for two years and she succeeded as well. “ well, i’m happy to hear that, harry. at least one of us has found a certain happiness in this city.”

“No, I get that. How was it? Did you reinvent yourself?”

" it was amazing. eyeopening, really. watching all these people in different cities, with different cultures. it had a certain spark everywhere i went. so you could say i did reinvent myself. but no journey is too long to reinvent yourself. but tell me, what made you come back to the states? ”

“Yeah, I guess that’s the downside to travelling. Somewhere starts to feel like home then it’s time to leave again,” she nodded. “That’s cool. Not sure I’ll get much chance to do that anymore,” she told her. “I love going to Paris with my mom. Italy is beautiful. I’ve been to England a few times with my dad.”

“being in amsterdam and living for 18 months there was probably the best thing i could do. the country is amazing and the people are so nice. everyone is so grounded and humble in comparison to new york citizens.” she shrugged her shoulders at the blonde. “ah italy, love me some good pizza and pasta. the country is so beautiful. oh and don’t get me started on the men living there.” a smile appeared on her face thinking back at italy. “how come you’re not sure if you get a chance or not?”

“I got a bit of attention. I didn’t hate it,” he laughed, unable not to grin at her response. “Good good, or this would be awkward,” he smiled back at her. “Well, I’m not stalking you if that’s what you think,” he joked. “I moved here just over a year ago. Had some shit with my stepdad. My uncle lives here, so well, only place I could think to come. Now I’m stuck.”

“ of course you don’t. i can’t imagine a single person who would hate the attention,” she said, smiling and rolling her eyes at him. “oh, you’re not? that’s a bummer. here was me hoping you were stalking me, ” she jokingly added. “that sucks     the part of having some shit with your stepdad. well, there are worse cities to be stuck in. i hope you’re having a great time here while you’re stuck in the big apple.”
