βOr Italy? Or Greece?β Sirius was looking at him expectantly.Β
βI thinkβ¦they sound nice?β Harry said.Β
βIndiaβs an option, too, though that journey takes five different Portkeys,β Sirius mused.Β
It dawned on Harry then that Sirius was trying to select a place for a holiday. βUmβ¦Hermioneβs parents took her to Japan last summer. She really liked it.β
βOh, I like the sound of that,β Sirius said. βThatβs a longer journey than India, so I think weβd take a Muggle aeroplane instead of trying to travel by magic. Moony! What do you think of Japan?β
βI think that sounds lovely,β Remus called back.
βJapan it is,β Sirius said, scribbling some notes on his parchment. βHow does three weeks sound?β
βBrilliant,β Harry said, even though his heart sank. He was glad Sirius and Remus were taking a holiday--they deserved it, after all--but he didnβt like the thought of being left behind for three weeks. He told himself firmly to stop being a baby about it. They had done more than enough for him already. He could survive without them. βUmβ¦would I be staying with someone, then? Or I could write to Ron, see if the Weasleys would be okay with me staying with them?β
βWhat?β Sirius blinked up at him. βYouβ¦donβt want to come?β
βI--β Harry hesitated. βI didnβt think I was invited?β
βOf course youβre invited! Why would we go on holiday without you?β
βJustβ¦the Dursleys always did.β Harry shrugged. βIβve never been anywhere.β
