To be honest, it was one of the most terrifying experiences of his life.  Magnus had closed himself off to feeling for so long, and while he had told this to Alec, no one else knew .  And then, he was standing there in front of the Clave, putting his heart in Alec’s hands and not knowing what would happen.  “When he chose me, it was like the sun had broken through the clouds.  I never thought I could know such happiness.”  

Magnus smiled at her, “I hope that what we did makes it easier for you to be brave.  Who is she?  The one you want to be brave for?”

“Where else would I be?” Aline replied mid-yawn, doing absolutely nothing to mask how sleepy she was currently feeling. She began to stretch and wiggle her toes to try and jolt her body awake, Aline’s head turned to meet Helen’s when she finished and she grinned. “Helen you are my home. There is no place or person in this entire world I choose over you.” she sighed dreamily looking into Helen’s eyes. “You have never been ‘just a girl’ to me.”

Helen watched her stretch with a small smile of her own which grew when Aline’s dark eyes finally met hers. The other shadowhunter’s words had Helen’s eyes stinging, but she held back the tears and instead leaned forward to press a quick kiss to her lips. “You deserve so much more than this. You deserve the world. But I’m glad you’re here with me.”

February 5. Has your character ever had surgery (or other major medical treatment)?

Mark’s thoughts went to Kieran and he smiled. “As I said, it was not all pleasant, but…I was not alone.” The scars on his back and various ones here and there on the rest of his body were proof that the Hunt was no picnic, but he was sure things would have been worse without Kieran with him.

‘’I wouldn’t know - well not personally. But I wouldn’t be surprised if unicorns did exist somewhere.’’

Magnus knew that Alec had gotten a few letters from other Shadowhunters, thanking him for his bravery.  He’d also gotten a lot of dark looks from others who were less than impressed by them.  But Magnus?  No one really considered him in the equation, which was why he gaped for a moment at the young Shadowhunter.  “You.. are welcome?”  He hadn’t meant for it to come out as a question.  “I mean, I just stood there but I’m glad it helped you and others.”  It had helped him too.
