‘I didn’t know I was making any catch’ said Demelza

Ross rubbed his nose. ‘I didn’t know what sort of a catch I was making either. Dear Heaven, that was the luckiest day of my life.’

Ross : ‘Of course.’ But when it came he did not eat much.

Demelza : ‘Not hungry?’ she said

Ross : ‘Just tired. Tired of talking, tired of arguing, tired of inquiring, tired of riding.’

Demelza : ‘Eat a bit more.’

Ross : ‘No,’ he said, I think I just want you.’

‘There is a way that you come to love a person when blemishes are part of him and therefore don't count for much in the whole picture.’
