Ok, I'm only really good at making weird jokes, but I do think there are some interesting themes that can be explored through these two characters. The yearning for humanity when you yourself feel like you're unable to successfully be part of humanity. The kind of love that comes from the desire to understand someone and be understood by them, when you feel like you're incapable of understanding or being understandable. (But actually they both understand each other much better than they think.)
