Because I still have a very unhealthy, abusive relationship with writing/fandom/posting, this will probably only be up for like, 2 days before I delete it like it deserves.
“There’s something I’m very curious about.”
“Oh….whoa….I, uh….didn’t expect that kind of question.”
“You don’t have to answer if it’s too painful.”
From the way Lucifer’s body tensed in his embrace and the slight trembling in his voice, Alastor knew it definitely wasn’t ‘okay.’
“Well, it, uh….It was paradise, to put it simply….No violence….Everything was beautiful. It’s so hard to describe to anyone who hasn’t been there….It was just perfect. Nothing like it.”
“Mm….It sounds lovely….Do you miss it?”
“….I do. A lot….And my family….before I met Lilith….my friends….I miss them even though they renounced me.”
There was a lengthy silence that settled between them as they laid in bed together. Lucifer’s fingers continued to gently twirl and fiddle with Alastor’s soft hair as he lost himself in memories that he rarely allowed himself to replay.
“But if I didn’t fall,” he eventually began quietly, “I never would’ve had Charlie. And we would’ve never met.”
Alastor nearly laughed at the absurdity of putting himself in the same category as Charlie, yet when he lifted his head to better view Lucifer’s face, he witnessed the absolute sincerity and true emotion behind the statement.
Meeting one another’s eyes, Lucifer smiled sweetly, and Alastor knew there was pain behind it, but also love.
Placing his hand affectionately against Lucifer’s cheek, Alastor leaned down and kissed him slowly several times.
When he at last broke away, he whispered, “I’m glad you fell.”
The unspoken implication of “for me” wasn’t lost on Lucifer, and with a delighted grin, he cupped the radio demon’s face in his hands and pulled him down for more.
