″ odd company. ″ — EPIC! poseidon x reader
it had been long since the number of stabs done to Poseidon, the sea god to say the least.. was fuming. He had Odysseus right where he wanted him, and for that man to have the last laugh? It angered him, that didn't help the feeling at the pools of the deities stomach that lingered, a hint of respect for the mortal who had managed to still get home even if it seemed as if the tides had been against him— they always have, yet they'd been turned around, granting the mortal a favor, just to beat him.
Of course, the sea god was far from pleased– causing the tides to be harsher to sailors who had simply done nothing. Poseidon was sulking, he had lost, and his brother of all people just had to hear about it– the perfect ammo the thunderer could use on him, the mere fact his pride had been ripped apart by a mortal who even offered mercy before the whole conundrum. Poseidon, who didn't do it because of his ego, who actually did it for his son— found himself humiliated, his body slumped at the cliff's edge, his thoughts swallowed, making him unable to notice the presence approaching.
You found yourself staring at the rather handsome stranger— he had the look of a god. wavy hair that moved as free as the oceans waves, you were entranced, the man before you was absolutely divine, one of the definitions of perfection, a feat not many could achieve as a mortal. You found yourself drawn to the odd beauty of the man, slowly drawing closer till you could practically settle beside him. The thin line on his lips, the way his eyes had focused on the ground, hands mindlessly fiddling with one another, you could tell he was deep in thought. You had to weigh your options, it was getting late— you wouldn't want this guy to stay out here all night, no.. but you didn't want to bother the pretty face either.
The thought had you at a standstill, making you fail to notice that the man had turned his attention to you, finally realizing there was some company next to him, how odd.
