so, whats going on here? libber died a while back, probably when jay was just a few months old. the main issue is of course that libber wasnt quite ready to die.

the only way to stop her spirit from being dragged into the realm of the departed was to cling unrelentingly onto the place where she died. and so she did and continued to do so even as the years passed and her corpse rotted beneath her and she lost hope of ever being saved... until the merge meant that her resting place was no longer in such an isolated location and even placed it in the path of one jay walker.

a couple years after the merge, memories in tact and searching for his teammates, jay senses the strange presence. he stumbles into reach while overcome by a feeling of warm familiarity. luckily for libber, its easier to possess someone who is more genetically similar to you. jay is the perfect host.

he fights, at first. libber whispers him reassurances in his own body, but she doesnt know if he can hear them - if he can sense at all or if his perception is limited to the suffocating feeling of possession and the desperate instinct to break out.

then as time passes, hes worn down. she can only hope that hes still alive in there, but she cant give up her possession to check. then itll all have been for nothing.
