anyways fuck america for not educating students about the aids crisis whatsoever

my drama teacher mentioned to us “most of my friends from college are dead” and I knew right away what he meant. he explained “I was a drama major in the 1980s” and still no one else in the class understood. he explained a little bit about the aids crisis, but these kids had no idea before. it is truly heartbreaking to hear about it, and especially to see it being erased.

A PSA to the Switchfam:

I know we all want to be a part of the drive in Switchfoot concert but before you tweet at them consider these couple of things.

1. To ask them to do an entire tour would be asking the guys to risk a lot for us. Not only would their health be at stake, but also that of the crew and the guys’ families. If they decide to do a tour, support them! But let’s not beg them to risk everything for us.

2. Yes, it’s expensive. But a venue likely costs the same whether you sell seats or parking spots. There is less room available so the price has to go up or else they would probably be spending money rather than making any.

I know it’s exciting but we need to remember that the guys need to do this in order to keep their crew employed during the pandemic as Jon has mentioned, so let’s be understanding of pricing. And let’s also remember that they’re people. We aren’t entitled to their time although they give us a lot of it! So support them if you can afford to if they decide to go on a drive in tour but let’s not beg them to. Join the fan Facebook group to comment if there’s talk of it happing if you want to show support for the idea :)
