Elle: What happened?!?!?

Daisy: I was trying to make lunch for tomorrow! And I pulled the drawer open--the one right next to the sink where we put all our rubberbands and other stuff--and the handle fell off!

Honestly, Rory didn’t care if anyone thought she looked ridiculous. She stopped caring how others viewed her a long, long time ago. Her rainbow unicorn fairy costume had made plenty of people smile thus far; and she’d already received dozens of compliments from individuals of all ages. Plus she’d just come from the first of many Pride Month events; and nothing could dampen her spirit. As she continued down the street in the direction of the bus stop, she caught someone’s gaze and offered them a warm smile. “Lovely weather we’re having, yeah?” 

Spotting the... unicorn down the street had Daisy doing a double take.  Not exactly unicorn but a unicorn horn afixed to someone’s forehead.  In a very colorful and pretty and sparkly dress.  Was there a party around here?  Curiously, Daisy scrambled over, gingerly moving past a few people until she reached the woman with a large smile.

“Oh!  Yes, very lovely!  I um I hope this isn’t strange, but I love what you’re wearing and I wanted to know where you got... everything!”

“Watch the floor!” Gabi poked her head out from the doorway into the kitchen, where she was trying to do too many things at once. “We had a cupcake catastrophe earlier and my assistant is on a delivery.” She had to take the cookies out of the oven to cool, and find the mop and cleaner, and try to get the floor cleaned up before someone slipped in the icing. “I’ll be right there if you need any help!”

“Gabi, I came early to pick up-- ahh!” Daisy’s words ended abruptly in a small shriek as she felt her foot give underneath her.  Her hands frantically grabbed onto the door handle, preventing her from completely slipping onto the ground.  It looked like she slipped on frosting, and she definitely only caught Gabi’s warning after her shoe had made friends with the mess on the ground.  “I’m okay!  I’ll um I’ll block off the area until you get here!”

“I shouldn’t be quoted on that,” Sarai said quickly, wishing she had thought to make note of where she’d heard that bit of information so she could verify it. “If they’re done well, I believe children’s books should also have things that appeal to adults. I think C. S. Lewis said something to that effect. I read to my - Jack’s nephew a few times. It was enjoyable.” That was probably not the sort of thing to bring up at a dinner like this, but it was too late now. Chuckling, she brushed her hair back. “I still think I’m getting the better end of this evening. Have you been able to explore the city much since you moved?”

Daisy nodded, listening attentively to Sarai, while sipping on her glass of iced water.  “I think just the act of reading together is really nice.  Maybe I’m less into reading and more into just spending time with other people!” she giggled.  In all fairness, Daisy didn’t remember much about the stories she would read to children but she remembered how warm and lovely it was to be all cuddled up with them as she read them their bedtime stories.  “Miss!  No, the pleasure is definitely all mine.”  She felt her cheeks heat up before continuing.  “Oh, much better.  It was a bit difficult at first because I kept getting lost and sometimes I would slip into Italian when I meant to speak French and I was just getting so confused.  But it’s been nice.  The House has been very welcoming and my roommate is the best and has helped a lot too.”

The emotions were evident in both Daisy’s face and her voice. Julien could only wonder all the things she might have been feeling that would make the offer that he’d made something with such meaning. It made him feel both sympathy for her, and also proud that he could do something so important for someone else. Reaching out once she’d finished talking, he took one of her hands in his and offered her a kind smile. “I’m happy to help in any way that I can. Truly.” He said with certainty. “And you don’t need to worry about all that. Laughing, crying, in the end we’re all human and we all feel various emotions. If we’re going to be friends I’d say we’ve got a lot more of all sorts of emotions in our future. Yes?”

Daisy looked down in surprise when the Dominant’s hand took hers.  The spoon hung in her mouth as she pulled her gaze up at him, smiling at his kind expression and his understanding words.  “It’s true!  Feelings are so natural and we should embrace them!” she chimed, pulling her spoon out with her free hand.  With a giggle, she nodded, glad to have made a new friend.  “I would love that.  I’ve been in Breton for not so long and... and I’m in a House but I barely know anyone there.”  Feeling herself clam up again, Daisy shook her head and chuckled.  “And we’ll get loads of ice cream together.  Promise?” she asked, holding up her pinky.

With that much leeway over her schedule, Tien was likely to be incredibly selfish, but he there was no point in mentioning his general selfish tendencies. Whatever happened tonight would happen naturally. He wasn’t likely to force any extra time on someone if they didn’t end up enjoying themselves. He’d just see where the night took them. He nodded at her request and moved to grab an empty wine glass so that he could pour her one, handing it over to her before moving to grab a beer for himself. He’d seen her scoping out his apartment and took a moment to look around at his own surroundings. Pictures of him with family, him with his family dog, him out with friends in various states of drunkenness. Other than that, his apartment was furnished and supplied with much of what one would consider in a bachelor pad of someone his age. “It’s not big, but it does the job. It’s comfortable, I have people over every once in a while, but I like it and it’s mine.” He gave a small shrug with a slight grin on his face. “Kitchens through there,” He pointed in the direction of his kitchen, and then looked in the other direction, “There’s a guest bathroom that way, my room’s over there… Not much in the way of a tour. It’s not too different from a bunch of other apartments, I’m sure. Wanna have a seat?” Tien gestured to the couch figuring they could get comfortable while they had their drinks.

Saaz chuckled and nodded. “Good. I’m happy I’m not running you away.” he laughed softly as he wrapped his arms around her. “See, now I’m going to have to take your clothes off. I warned you and you called me ‘Sir’ again.” he smirked and when she tried to separate a little, he pulled her body back to his. “If this was your goal, then just forward enough.” He admitted as he moved his hands down her back and to her ass. he gave it a small spank.

Liana helped Daisy carry everything, feeling immensely grateful that they had run into each other. It was exactly what Liana needed. “Okay, well I’m never going to say no to ice cream so you can look forward to that,” she said with a laugh. She could tell already that it was going to be a comforting night.

Daisy grinned, optimistic about helping Liana cheer up.  It’ll probably take some time before her friend was fully ok with everything, but she was eager to help and do whatever she could.  Besides, she had wanted to spend more time with Liana anyways and this gave her good reason to check in on her.  “Perfect. It’ll be a fun night!  I promise!”

It was a sweet thought and Sarai might have to make a genuine offer at some point. She didn’t know what to do with submissives these days, outside the bordello. Having something to do might make a difference. “I heard somewhere that listening to audiobooks triggers the same parts of your brain that reading with your eyes does so I think books on audio still count - and thus so would listening to someone read to you.” She placed her order quickly and turned back to Daisy with a smile. “I don’t think you should squelch your excitement for food - it’s a necessary part of life but there’s no reason to be blasé about it. Hopefully it will live up to your hopes.”

“Really?  I never knew that!  Actually... that might be something good for me to know.  Oh, I sometimes babysit and I do really like to read to children, but those books tend to be a lot easier than like chapter books and novels,” she admitted with a slight chuckle.  But that was beside the point; Daisy realized she might have rambled a bit.  “I am excited, really!  And even if the food here isn’t amazing, which I’m sure it’ll be great, at least I’ll have gotten a great experience out of it because it was with you, miss!”
