i know this isn’t my regular post, but i wanted to talk about something. before i jump into this, i wanted to add a quick trigger warning. if you struggle with sensitive topics, please don’t interact with this post.

it’s september, and september is national suicide awareness month. i wanted to come on here and use my platform to raise awareness.

over 70,000 people commit suicide per year. that’s one person every 7.5 minutes. as somebody who has struggled with attempts in the past and currently struggles with suicidal ideation, as well as losing my best friend to suicide, it’s important to me that people are aware of this ongoing issue.

living with suicidal thoughts is not an easy task. even the littlest of things can bring a person closer and closer to the idea of ending their life. most people who struggle feel as though they can’t get help. please check up on the people you love, you never know how much they might need it. remind them that they are loved. someone you care about might be struggling, and as someone who struggles, a simple question can help a tremendous amount.

it’s okay to not be okay, but it isn’t okay to suffer in silence. please don’t be afraid to take advantage of hotlines. if you’re struggling, don’t hesitate to reach out. message me, i’ll answer every time. please remember that you are so loved.
