Our 8 judges have been sweating over all of your beautiful submissions! We wish everyone could win, but alas, there can only be three! Does anyone have a really posh/fancy restaurant set up that could accommodate 20ish people next Friday evening for an RP event?  We can bring our own servers, we just need a venue that can host us.  This is for a musician’s banquet before our Symphony event so the fancier/stuffier the better.

I know @ebonguardls has the Cloak and Dagger very nicely setup but I’m not affiliated with them so don’t know their availability. 

Could always go through what’s listed on the @balmungrpcalendar and see if any of those venues are available.

An Excellent Adventure

Prepared for the final encounter with the Emperor’s Guard and the Order of the Keeper, the dungeoneers met in Camp Tranquil and traveled to the location of their immobile mystery boulder. The bronze disc was tossed on the perfectly flat surface created by L’alor’s magick and the summoning read out. In a brilliant flash of colors the area before the team was suddenly filled with three black robed figures and four bronze robed figures, one of which was the time mage previously captured by the dungeoneers.

The captured time mage quickly distanced himself from his former compatriots and hid behind Syn’thiel to make his stance in the whole matter known. The robed figures asked where they were and why they were there, and the duneoneers replied to answer that they had summoned them to discuss their actions taken against the memory of Althyk and attempts to find places concerning the god. One of the black robed figures stepped forward to address the dungeoneers, explaining that it was not the wishes of the Emperor’s Guard to hide Althyk from the world. The members of the Order of the Keeper responded in kind, that it was their mission to destroy the memory of Althyk and they would not be stopped. A look from the black robed figures silenced talk like that.

It did not stop one bronze figure from stepping forward in preparation for an attack, but that was stopped by Bragi’s eagle eyed vision and stern words. The one bronze figure halted in their step, but it spurred on another of the bronze figures to launch an attack on the black robed speaker, who dodged the attack easily. The fireball attack skipped over the black robed speaker and collided into L’alor and Bragi. Constantine’s quick draw of his gun sent a bullet through the head of the fireball launcher, dropping him dead into the ground. The previously stopped bronze figure stepped forward again to prepare to strike, but found themselves lifted in the air by chains of umbral magick controlled by Syn’thiel and stopped from action. The last remaining bronze robed figure was never given a chance to assault the dungeoneers as a sudden shoulder rush by Bragi sent the figure crashing into a boulder; their chest stopped before their head, which snapped backwards quickly and ended their days. Enchained and desperate the last bronze figure began blinking rapidly, which the dungeoneers took as a sign of agreement to their asking if he would no longer cause trouble. Instead the blinking was an attempt to spellcast, opening a rift to the Void that threatened to swallow the dungeoneers and black robed figures. Thankfully Aegir’s intricate relation with the Void allowed him to be aware of the coming rift, casting his own counter spell that sealed the oozing mass of the rift into a calcified stone by his blood runes. Syn’thiel ended the chance for more casting as her umbral chains choked the remaining life out of the last bronze robed enemy.

With all of the bronze robed enemies dead, from a vicious efficiency, the black robed figures held themselves ready to settle the matters with the drunk dungeoneers in a civil manner. The black robed figures conveyed that they were not wishing to withhold anyone from becoming familiar with Althyk and would welcome the dungeoneer’s client to use the spaces of worship. With the agreement to not bother the dungeoneers, or their client, and remove the enchantment on the boulder, the Emperor’s Guard took their leave.

As the enchantment was removed from the boulder it began to fill in time it had missed, engaging all the actions occurred to it in its chronostatic state. As it began to shake and become battered from damage inflicted on it, the dungeoneers realized that all of their spells would be engaged against it. Syn’thiel tensed herself just in time to disappear, her previously used teleport spell activating. The dungeoneers became frantic and worried for their suddenly gone comrade, but Aegir’s deft magick guided them to Syn’thiel location while the teleported mage sent up a flare to note her location.

Through the now open tunnel, the dungeoneers emerged into a swamp full of water, rocks, and efts. Figuring that the location may have been useful in a previous time the mask found within the lost temple was tested out; Bragi was volunteered to test it first by Aegir. As Bragi put the mask one he began acting differently, unresponsive to the rest of the team; he was seeing one of his happiest memories, Starlight in Ishgard before he joined the Red Bills. Despite some difficulty as L’alor and Accendie tried to pull the mask off the joyfully dancing Bragi, Aegir’s deft lightning bolt stopped the man from hurting himself, though not from getting hurt. Aegir slipped the mask on to confirm a theory, removing it soon after to explain that the mask was allowing wearers to see their happiest memories. Constantine put the mask on, allowing him to see his homeland of Sharlayan again, to confirm Aegir’s suspicions.
