I'm still fully convinced that Lars's arc in Lars of the Stars will revolve around him grappling with his immortality. I simply see no other explanation for why the one synopsis we have for show refers to him as an "eternal teenager" when not once did the main show ever draw even the slightest bit of attention to his potential immortality.
And given how strange, uncharacteristic even, it would be for Lars to care about his immortality if effectively nothing and nobody on Earth had changed, I'm really thinking we're in for a much larger timeskip than most expect.

I really wonder if LotS is gonna truly delve into who created gemkind. Given gems are just advanced robots, it goes without saying that an organic species would've needed to initially create them. But where is that species now, and why did they create gems in the first place???
Completely baseless speculation, but perhaps Homeworld (the planet) was the original home of the creatorsāy'know, hence its name. It would support my theory that gems, just following their programming, conquered and drove their creators to extinction. Although, considering gems are effectively immortal, I wonder why we haven't seen any recordings or first-hand accounts of this history (that is, unless it's hidden in plain sight somehow).
A major question I have which I rarely see others ask is whether White Diamond was the first ever gem. While most will say "no duh," I strongly beg to differ; there's no way a gem as powerful as White would've been a "first try" sorta deal, y'know? The robots we have today in our world are the result of almost a century of iterating upon designs. So there were almost certainly some "prototype" gems before White. Perhaps those prototypes even went behind the backs of their creators to make White themselves out of some programmed desire for a strong, flawless leader.

Connie fought her own lips as they formed an involuntary smirk. She could faintly recall hiding her boyfriend's clothes beneath the bathroom sink shortly after he'd fallen asleep the previous night. While she wished she knew why, sleep-deprived Connie wasn't known for making rational decisionsāespecially regarding Steven's clothes.
"Connie, c'mon..." he pouted. He tried his best to appear serious regardless of the funny circumstances, but his two sets of rosy cheeks ultimately betrayed him. "I just wanted to get us some coffee," he chuckled, attempting to keep his gaze from lingering upon any one part of his girlfriend's bare form. "I, uhm, can't exactly go out like this, though."
"Good. Stay." Connie lazily kicked her unused blanket into the crevice between her bed and the wall. "Keep me warm..." she yawned, flipping from her side onto her back. She understood Steven's weaknesses better than even he did, and he often considered himself lucky that she used them exclusively to arouse him and occasionally steal his french friesāif not both simultaneously.
"But my coffee..." he murmured. The mere thought of a peppermint latte had been his sole motivator for rolling out of bed minutes earlier.
"Coffee can wait." Connie outstretched her arms and grasped in his general direction. "World's cold. Bed's warm."
Welp, can't argue with that, Steven thought. With a sigh, he tumbled back into bed, where it took his girlfriend all of five seconds to once more entangle their limbs like a pair of wild shrubs. Most couples would've found the position rather uncomfortable, but merging bodies so often had the tendency to make ordinary touch never feel intimate enough.

I saw someone say once that they thought steven would be the stricter one and connie would be a lot more lenient bc of how they were both raised, and i DEFINITELY see that. Ik steven would be the goofiest and sweetest dad ever, heās got all the stupid dad jokes and is crying over everything, but heās the one who absolutely means business when she does something stupid LOL. With everything he went through as a kid I know hed be very overprotective at times tooā¦.. hes the definition of becoming an adult and slowly turning into your parents. Heās sitting at the table in the middle of the night like āAm i just turning into pearl rnā and connieās like āYeah a littleā
I think connie has like. soccer mom vibes to me lowkey but not in a bad way. She grew up with her parents controlling all her activities and her schedule so i think when her kids find something THEYāRE interested in she gets sooo passionate and excited and supportiveā¦ Ngl imagine like barb at some points but I think steven keeps her from going overboard, she always wants her kids to be comfortable talking to her and telling her if sheās doing too much because She felt so scared to do that with her own parents. HUGE mama bear energy though. The one who goes into the principals office hearing crystal got into a fight at school and shes like āok but did the other kid deserve itā
BUT they do probably swap in this dynamic sometimes too. i will NOT say steven would be completely passive. i mean, we know he can hold a crazy grudge. We saw how he acted w kevin. Connie did NOT gaf about that guy (mostly bc of her own discomfort but still), but steven was ready to KILL
And yeah he was a teenager but cāmon thatās not the only reason, he is just kind of Like That. It probably depends on whoās more put together at the time and whoās more willing to not cause a scene. Its USUALLY steven but like. Look just fucking pray that they arenāt both in a bad mood bro /hj
steven is THE girl dad btw he already loves feminine stuff and i think we as a fandom donāt talk enough abt that. He was definitely playing dress up as a kid too he will gladly let his daughter cover him in stickers and glitter and paint his nails and they will both have a GREAT time. Connie plays war with the kids theyāre like recreating the fucking lion king scene in the living room. she and the kids have like paper towel roll swords and theyāre sneaking up on steven while heās working on smthn to āattackā him and steven is dramatically falling to the floor pretending to die.
Itās probably obvious but ik theyād be huge on gentle parenting! But like. ACTUAL gentle parenting yk. i absolutely think theyā and ESPECIALLY steven for obvious reasonsā would be SO passionate about the difference between gentle parenting and just permissive parenting/complete lack of structure and how much of a bad rep it gets
I mean steven, despite gregās faults, was always raised to express himself and his emotions, and to not be afraid to do soā¦ Itās one of the things we love most abt him!! And yk the gems were obviously NOT good parental figures at the start of the show by any means, but something iāve always appreciated about future after we see them start to improve is like, the fact that they clearly realize how much they parentified steven and try to make up for it. They dont respond RIGHT by any meansā nobody unfortunately rlly knew what to do w steven in futureā but we see both greg and the gems ALLOWING steven to be angry with them and express that anger.
The biggest fault is that they donāt really validate it, but they do Listen, they give him space to talk and they donāt respond back with more anger!!! Which is obviously a very important thing for adults to do, especially with teenagers (even if itās the bare minimum COUGH). He absolutely hates the lack of structure he had growing up, but there are parts he still appreciates and would obviously give to his kids tenfold. And ofc as previously mentioned, considering connie felt the need to hide so many things from her parents when she was young, she wants NOTHING more than for her kids to feel comfortable expressing their feelings to them. Idk theyād be great parents i think they balance each other out perfectly

It makes me giggle that there are people who genuinely think Steven won't be in Lars of the Stars. Like, we already have confirmation of Garnet and Peridot making appearances, so I'm fully expecting basically every SU main character to make a cameo, if not tag along for significant portions of the plot. As much as I like the Off Colors, they cannot carry a show all on their own, and you can tell Rebecca agrees by how few notable appearances they had following their debut.
I wouldn't be surprised if LotS has an identical formula to Fionna and Cake: a side character (Lars) takes the lead role while a few previous main characters (Steven, Connie, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Lapis, Peridot, Greg, etc.) take more supportive roles. All the while, many other characters from the original show pop in for an episode or two before leaving.
