When I was a child and young adult I drew constantly. And then life intervened and I didn't draw for something like 8 years. Even when I did I didn't share it with anybody. But something about the rise of AI in the art world shook me up and forced me to start creating again.
I'm so happy I did. I started this Tumblr about five months ago. Literally within two days of starting it @gothicthundraog was like "We've seen your art! Yay! Come join our Discord server!"
It was a very blue pill/red pill moment for me. I'm in my 40s, I'm a Mom, and my first thought was "Shit, I'm I too old for this?" But the truth is, you're never too old to follow your inspirations and connect with those who share your passions.
@flowery-laser-blasts has become a very good friend which I'm always in awe of as I am also a huge fangirl of her work. The fact she not only LIKES me but helps me improve my art I'm always in awe of. @thatgingerowl inspires me as both an artist and a writer and puts up with my iffy French. Scumdog47 who helps me form and collate my fanfiction ideas and adds some of his own. @sharperthewriter is constantly supportive, keeps us on task and always digs up only the highest quality KP content for us. @dggthecat makes the squishiest loves and is a huge supporter of my work. @abydell is a treasured human being and we share a love of blue men. @midnightcaptions tolerates my late night ramblings and occasionally slides a doodle my way. @wbullscotland who always has good humor and a valuable repository of automobile knowledge.
And @gothicthundraog, incredibly prolific in her art, who somehow manages to take care of us all. I scroll art and lit now instead of doomscrolling political rants, AI generated crapola and personal drama.
Six months ago I didn't know any of these people. There are others I've connected with too - you know who you are - and I'm just grateful. So grateful.
