       â ah! you know joesph? yes, yes! thatâs me! â Â
           he seemed nervous, so she made sure to keep her smile as big and welcoming as ever. from how young he looked, she could only assume he was one of jotaroâs friends⌠would make sense why he knew joseph ( he had been here before her ). Â
        â no need to get up. go ahead and sit down! âÂ
âYeah, heâs a friend of mine. He and Jotaro really saved my life a while ago.â The fact that she seems like a rather nice woman puts Kakyoin more at ease -- heâs gotten better at walling himself off less around strangers after his time in the Foundation, but still. Kakyoin nods politely at her; a thanks but not much else. âItâs alright.â He has gotten this far! He shall remain standing. Even if itâs at a bit of an angle. âMr. Joestar talked about you before. His reviews were pretty glowing; Iâm glad to meet you.â
@fatebond
âAh--â Heâs seen her face before (she looks a lot like Mrs. Kujo, hard not to recognize), so he attempts to scramble up to a standing position. Doesnât work very well, his legs donât really work, but itâs rude otherwise. He can hold the wall. âYouâre Mr. Joestarâs wife, right? I didnât expect Iâd be meeting you.â (Is she a stand user, too?)
@odorokitsuru // starter call
âAh- can you--â Wait, no. Never mind. Never mind, he was wrong and this was a mis-judgement. Something mischievous is going on, he realizes that now as he sees it in this guyâs eyes, and it is now time to try and extract himself from the situation before itâs too late. Kakyoin steps back a few paces, hands up in surrender.
âWow. Look at the time. I have to go be a place that isnât here.â

Not a cosplayer. Well, thatâs simultaneously a disappointment and a reliefâ while sheâs hopeful that her hunches are correct (as weird as that is to think about), but not too hopeful, just in case.
Oh! Her hands clasp together with thatâ itâs a miracle that, somehow through her stuttering mess, he seemed to understand what she was trying to ask⌠except Ayano hadnât really thought this far ahead. What was she supposed to say to that?
(Sheâs half tempted to just yell âI love youâ at him, but thatâs weird by even her standardsâ besides, her intentions were to not freak him out, that certainly wasnât going to help any; she can hardly keep calm herself).
âR-Right, where are my manners⌠Iâm Ayano Tateyama, but we havenât met, no! So you arenât being rude or anything like that.â Introductions were important to making this conversation at least somewhat normal, a nervous laugh as she rubs at the back of her neck. âThis probably seems a bit strange, but itâs⌠you see, uh⌠itâs kind of hard to explain.âÂ
Her ability would be useful in a sense here, yes, to be able to project and show instead of awkwardly stumbling through an explanationâ was explaining even a good idea? Then again, in retrospect, this might actually be less weird in comparison and sheâs just overthinking things.
âWait, thatâs it! She doesnât need to speak when she can just show; with that revelation, Ayano reaches for her bag (the convenience of having only a few belongings, is that she can carry them around as she pleases). âThis probably seems a bit strange.â She repeats as she pulls her manga from the bag. âBut I promise itâll make sense⌠maybe!â
Kakyoin gives her a soft âhelloâ after she provides her name. Ayano Tateyama, heâll do his best to remember it. Nice to know, but for the next couple of seconds heâs left to try and run through however many scenarios exist that would make him recognizable.
None of the things he comes up with even remotely approach the answer he was given, which is the young woman pulling out a book from her bag, which singlehandedly manages to derail every thought in Kakyoinâs head into a train crash of bewilderment.Â
âIs that-- thatâs not--â but it most certainly is. Thatâs Jotaroâs face on a book of manga and Kakyoinâs life has been pretty weird as a general rule but this takes the cake. He should probably ask before he does so, but his hands move on their own to take the volume from her hands and open it up. That... sure is him. That most certainly is the manga version of him and his friends and things they actually did in what (so far as Kakyoin is concerned) their real, actual lives. In a book of manga. He mutters in outright confusion at himself, a mix of âwhat the hell,â and âwho would do thisâ, but the name written on the front of the book is utterly unknown to him. Why is-- okay, scratch that. He knows exactly why a manga would exist of what is very aptly titled Jojoâs bizarre adventure, how is a better and more accurate question. There is no logical reason this possibly should have happened.
This is more downright weird and unbelievable than Kakyoinâs genuine life experience of âhey I once lost my soul and turned into a doll over a lost game of off-brand mario kart, but got it back because my friend used his grandpa to telepathically cheat at baseballâ.Â
He hands the book back to her with a sort of muted disbelief.
âI feel as if... itâs too late for me to argue about the existence of something like that in this city, but I have never hoped more that something go completely unread by as many people who see me as possible.â
Is he embarrassed? Oh, absolutely. And he knows this girl probably knows him too, now, more intently than almost anyone heâs ever interacted with (and definitely more so than anyone in this city), solely because heâs a generally cagey individual when it comes to his past, but if thereâs a manga of Jotaroâs entire Bullshit Zany Egypt Adventure, thatâs the most important fifty days of Kakyoinâs life. Kind of hard to keep the carefully crafted attitude up when someone already has however much of his backstory. Kakyoin sighs, rubbing hands over his eyes in what he hopes donât come off as completely embarrassed and uncomfortable. âItâs more than a bit strange for me.â

He couldnât help it. Itâs been ages since he went into one of these places. But upon hearing what the other liked he stopped what he was doing. âForeign and specialties then. Go ahead and pick out what you want then. Completely my treat.â
He smiled at Noriyaki. This was going to be the best day ever.
He pauses, surprised, before it fades back away in a blink. âAre you sure?â He isnât going to say no to free food, of course, but he had actually forgotten that was part of their deal for his escorting. âIâll go easy on you, then.âÂ
He wanders over and, after silent consideration, picks something cheerily-packaged and fruit-flavoured. Thatâs trustworthy enough to pass his standards. âIâll share, if you want.â

@abmetusâ âĄâd for a starter
âOhâ excuse me!â She calls after the man on the street with a wave of her hand, hurrying in her steps to catch up. She has long accepted that things here are not quite normalâ her presence, for one, is a pretty good indication of that fact. Sheâs not entirely sure how sheâs here but⌠even though it leaves her worried, yes, sheâs not questioning it too much.
Other matters, however, are another entirely different matter of abnormal, Ayano realizes. How to approach such a matter with dignity and grace⌠or some semblance of normality, however, seems unlikely. An expression halfway between awed and flummoxed as she catches her breath, she stares up. âSâŚSorry to bother you.â Sheâs still a little out of breath, a deep bow to express her apologies (sheâll be more apologetic if she happens to be mistaken), before straightening up. âAre you⌠ah⌠how do I ask thisâŚ? Youâre, uhm⌠youâre K-K-KaâŚâ Deep breathe, sheâs faced scarier things than this, she can do it.
âAre you a cosplayer?!â âŚAh. Well, close enough.
The call stops Kakyoin on instinct, he turns in an attempt to try and find the source of the call. Thereâs a young woman waving at him-- or near him, but he can presume that itâs his attention that she wants. So Kakyoin stops and waits for her to approach-- though things only become more mysterious as she does. She seems impressed, like sheâs confused him with someone remarkable, rather than a rather innocuous individual (so far as this city is concerned).
She seems so close to knowing who he was-- a whole syllable of his name, which was deeply jarring and strangely surreal. Even that stuttered half-attempt was enough to throw Kakyoin for a loop, pausing in frozen confusion before hesitantly pointing a finger at himself as if to verify thatâs who sheâs actually speaking to.
(Who is this person, and why would she even remotely know his name? Someone from the city university? Or... something? Surely not anyone from his own home, itâs been to long for that.)
âNo?â
Does he look that unusual to be classified as a cosplayer? Itâs not even that noticeable an outfit heâs got one (though his hair is, admittedly, a little notable, Kakyoin will give her that point).
âIf you were trying to ask my name first, yes, Iâm Kakyoin Noriaki.â She certainly got that one right. but if she knows him, and is acting like that, he must be someone who made an impression on her. But she... isnât familiar at all. Maybe sheâs someone he met once and forgot, which would be sincerely embarrassing, but does occasionally happen. (When others seem so temporary, itâs hard to always keep them in mind.)
âAnd Iâm sorry, but... should I know you? I donât think I recognize you, have we met?â
killuit.
âYeah, probably. My first thought was to use some kinda wire, but itâd need to be flexible enough while still capable of conducting high currents of electricity. I used to have superalloy yo-yos that were pretty efficient, so maybe alloy strings could work. Dunno if thatâs what they were actually made of, though.â A casual shrug of the shoulders. If he really wanted a durable weapon, heâs confident in his ability to find the appropriate materials, so it wasnât that big of a deal. Looking to the guy, he extends the other (unfried) yo-yo â he had seemed pretty interested in it, after all.
âWanna try?â
âThereâs probably someone around that can make something like that, I feel like Iâve met a few.â Thereâs some vague memories of some pretty odd skills and technology around this city. The kid will probably manage. Thereâs a slight change when the yo-yo is offered to him, though. Kis offers Kakyoin a try, which means that Kakyoin actually has to admit something heâs completely incompetent at. Doing that is always a little weird. He holds his hands up in surrender, palms-out.
âI do not... actually know how to yo yo.â Itâs not a thing he ever actually figured out.
Itâs important to have a good dive buddy who can read your weird ass hand signals
Have I mentioned how much I really love part 3
âAre you suggesting my style is outdated?â
ask meme //accepting! // sorry this is like a trillion years late whoopsies
âAh-- no, of course not.â He attempts placation first, demeanor conciliatory. He didnât mean to say that, not really-- and while Kakyoin might think himself vaguely fashionable when heâs left to his own devices, he is also not exactly âwith the timesâ, as one might put it. Heâs really not allowed to call anything outdated when he himself is pretty damn outdated.
     âJust that it was plainer than whatâs generally seen here... like from city outskirts.â

Ambar watched intently as the person taking the machine played, honestly she was interested in the game, but she didnât want to say anything as to ruin the persons focus. She had been standing there for quiet some time while the man played, she contemplated leaving a few times yet she could not seem to rip her eyes from the game without being able to play it at least once. Ambar watch semi-silently her shuffling to get a constant better view was probably the thing that made the most noise. It was the moment the made looked up at her that she finally realized how annoying she might have actually been, making her kind of shrink away until he spoke to her drawing her attention back once again.
âHuh? You wantâŚme to play? Well uh sure i guess i could!â Ambar said smiling happily as she stood there her purple hair hanging down to cover one of her right eye as she moved a bit closer and looked over the controls. âOh wow this one looks really old! Kinda good graphics though, i bet they messed with it a bit or something.â Ambar giggled though she had played the game before though not enough to entirely know the controls, but enough to generally know what she was doing. âYou seemed pretty good at the so i guess iâm going to have to break myâŚmaster skills~! âŚiâm so gonna lose this.â
Amber let out a giggle as she took up the mans offer to go against them, she was no master at video games, if anything she was a more casual player. Already deciding she was going to lose try or not so she was just happy able to play with someone rather than going against the AI the game was originally programmed with. By this point Ambar had been tired of the usual AI in games that she actually had the joy of finding enough money to play and today she had originally come just to watch other players, but today it seem that luck was unnaturally on her side. A free game didnât sound bad win or lose.
At least she seems inclined to go along with Kakyoinâs half-planned nonsense, Thatâs a plus for how his day is going to go, getting a stranger to play a game with him. Her question gets a nod. âYeah. Why not?â Itâs something interesting, after all. And then Kakyoin can motivate himself to get going and do something actually productive-- but games come first. Of course. Maybe heâll make half of a friend while heâs at it.Â
He moves aside to allow her space to peer down at the arcade console, but her statement seems to throw him for a loop. Kakyoin blinks, surprised, before flicking his gaze between her and the game itself. âIs it that old...?â Itâs been a while, and getting told stuff like that is still wildly jarring. It doesnât feel like heâs been in absentia for about forty years. God, thatâs weird.
But he takes his place as player one after bending over and poking the requisite quarters into the machine to let Ambar join in the party. She continues speaking as he does, and he would start, but something seems odd. Kakyoinâs motions pause, and he looks over at the girl with skepticism. "Why do I get the feeling I'm being hustled." Itâs said with a sense of humor, at least-- if thatâs what sheâs trying to do, Kakyoin wonât blame her. (Hustling is fun.)
âBreak out your master skills, itâll be more fun that way.â Heâs too competitive to try and go easy on someone, so hopefully her underselling herself was not actually her honest assessment of her skills.
And now: Game, Start!
