I am so relieved true love found me. And you might be thinking, “it found YOU?” When you watch movies about love growing up, it’s etched into your mind the kind of love that could potentially be out there. I always heard a lot of people say “real love is not like the movies” but I always said “well why can’t it be?” I’d gone through most of my teens and twenties yearning for love– yearning to be wanted, to be treated like a queen, to be respected and cared for and to be the person that someone out there couldn’t live without. I would meet someone, we’d talk and they’d abandon the conversation after days or weeks. I’d date and when they realized I was just too much they’d say “it’s not you, it’s me.” After some time I stopped searching. Life was not working in my favor and I was content with never finding love. But it turns out love was also looking for me this whole time. Always a few steps behind me, walking opposite directions, or grabbing the elevator after me because the door closed. Always in the right place but never at the right time. Then one day love and I sat next to each other. We talked for hours, then days, then weeks. Love visited me and I packed up my life into a car to move closer to love. All my fears and worries are kept at bay. I have someone to confide in without being judged. I have someone to explore new places with and try new things. I can live my life being my true and genuine self all because love found me. So yes, I am relieved. Because for once I feel like I’m not hiding parts of me, I’m not worried about someone making me feel like I’m not enough. I have my movie love and it’s just so good.
