1) When is the deadline for applications?

June 19th

2) Is this a free, paid or charity zine?

Currently we are polling the applicants to see what they prefer!

3) Is this digital or physical?

At the moment only a PDF is planned however if enough money is raised via a paid route then physical will be considered!

4) The post says writing is accepted, what are you looking for in writing?

A few paragraphs at most! The idea is to have a supplimental text to the illustrations. Short stories, lore, poetry, etc.

5) How are the creatures chosen?

We went through a list of mythological creatures, picking three for each letter of the alphabet. Careful to not pick duplicates(as many cultures have similar monsters), purely animals(such as giant bulls and birds) and specific gods. This is not a fool proof list as some letters were very difficult to pick from

6) If accepted do I get to pick my creature?

From the list yes! Though the tighter the list becomes the more likely you are to be assigned a specific letter. Our goal is at least 26 creatures to fill the english alphabet.

Hello everyone!

A B(estiary) C is a monster themed zine that is now accepting applications! The goal of the zine is to assign various writers and artists creatures from all over mythology and the world in order to create a broad alphabetical collection. A large list of wonderful monsters has been chosen, from Amarok to Banshee, Yaogui to Zmeu. All zine experiences welcome from none at all to veteran. Application deadline is June 19, 2019
