A Palestinian baby named Dua Qishta is suffering from severe swelling in her body, reaching a stage where it makes breathing difficult and directly threatens her life. Her small body can no longer endure, and her condition is rapidly worsening amid the lack of proper medical treatment inside Gaza, while time passes and the danger grows closer.
Dua is currently hospitalized at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, where doctors are doing everything they can with extremely limited resources. Her condition urgently requires medical transfer outside Gaza, as the necessary specialized treatment is not available. Any delay could cost the life of a child who has known nothing from this world but pain.
As I read about Dua, I could not separate her story from that of my daughter, Iman. Iman suffers from a deformity in her right foot and needs a complex surgical operation that cannot be performed inside Gaza. She must receive treatment outside Gaza in order to walk normally. The fear I live with for Iman is the same fear Dua’s family is living today. Gaza’s children are not asking for the impossible, only for a real chance at treatment and life before their stories turn into yet another tragedy.

Every day, I think about how much living through today feels like living through Nazi Germany. I watch my community members get disappeared, I watch as Gaza is bombed and seized under "ceasefire", I watch a corrupt government violate human rights with more than impunity-- with smug glee.
And every single day, I think about how, as a child learning about Nazi Germany, my first question was "Why didn't people do anything about it?". It was a question no one ever answered to my satisfaction. I couldn't comprehend a world where atrocities happened and people didn't do something.
Now, as an adult, I refuse to be a bystander. When I am old and looking back on what happened, will my grandchildren ask me, "Why didn't you do anything about it?" When I see a fundraiser, I wonder, will I be able to look back and say I gave these people as much support, as much money as I could? When I see a protest flyer, will I be able to proudly say I fought on the front lines, or that I stayed safely at home as others did my duty? When I see I.C.E., will I someday say that I cowered from them, or that I stood in front of my neighbors to protect them?
What kind of person are you in the face of adversity? Will you ignore the bombed, the deported, the disappeared, the murdered? Are you alright just letting these grave injustices pass you by? What are you going to do about it?

Hello everyone, my daughter Iman is 7 years old. She was injured in her feet during the war and needs complex surgery involving cutting the bones in her feet and inserting metal plates for a full year to correct the deformity caused by the injury. Please, everyone, help my daughter recover.
Please help Ahed's family and my family in any way you can. We are all in the same boat, living in Gaza. We have all been subjected to genocide. Our lives and homes have been destroyed, and we have young children.

You know that Mr. Rogers thing of 'look for the helpers'? How many times has someone, facing the end, done something tiny and fragile and maybe hopeless just to try and help someone else? Iman is not a number in a breaking news headline, nor an image to be consumed and forgotten. Iman is a child whose childhood was crushed by war before it even began. She suffers from brittle bones; her small body cannot endure falls or cruelty, yet she is forced to live in conditions never meant for a child. While children elsewhere run and laugh, Iman moves in fear fear of another fracture and learns far too early how to live with pain instead of play.
And with the cold, another kind of suffering begins.
Iman’s legs hurt her intensely an unbearable pain that worsens with the harsh winter nights and the freezing tent that protects nothing. The cold creeps into her fragile bones, turning pain into silent tears and nights without sleep. A sick child battling the cold, instead of being wrapped in warmth, instead of resting in a safe bed.
What kind of world accepts a child suffering like this?
What kind of conscience allows a sick childhood to be crushed first by war and then by winter? Your indifference is not neutrality it is silent participation. Iman is not asking for the impossible. She is asking for a chance to survive, for treatment, for a childhood not yet completely broken. Do not look away because silence here is a crime.
Please, please, for the sake of this poor child, please donate and help her.
