getting into it is all about the people you know, as much as i hate to say it. that being said, network naturally, don't social climb and don't put up a false image of yourself as you really just want to be as authentic as possible. most of the people i've worked with ended up being personal friends and i feel that's more valuable.

whether it's worth it or not depends on what you do. i do styling, design and different mediums of art. it's overworked, generally underpaid and unless you get a solid gig somewhere it's few and far between for a while. i found a lot of personal satisfaction through it which i loved but financially long term it was really hard which is why i had to bounce around with everything i work on.
