merdude:
An odd sensation filled Gunnar as he swam about the lake, continuing his daily duties. He missed being on two feet. It wasnât necessarily new, as a change of shape is often like a breath of fresh air (or a sip of cool water, he would joke), and so the leader of the merfolk decidedly ascended from the depths.Â
However, upon breaking the surface in shallow water, Gunnar was surprised to see that he was, surprisingly, not alone. He raised a brow at the unexpected guest, already steeling himself in preparation for a possible confrontation. After all, not every creature in the forest was entirely pleasant.
ââŚYou take a wrong turn at some point?â He called out, not minding the slight nip of cold air upon his exposed skin.
Both of Aibell's brows raised in incredulity as the very chiseled - seemingly undressed man erupted from under the lake. Of course it was a merfolk. She knew Gunnar - knew of him to an extent, and now to see him back into Faelias was quite a treat to rival the entering of vampires in Arain. She had had scouts around the saltwalter lake just so give her a signal if he would come out finally from deep down the depths. It wasn't an easy task for many fae, some mer took little too kindly to seeing armoured fae about. Those without proper armour though have met a slightly worse fate of being dragged underwater as if it was a game. Fortunately, only one of her charges met that fate early on with the mermaids entrance in Arain, every fae was more careful, especially since the salt was already quite the harmful substance.
"Of course not darling." a pleasant sing-song voice said in reply. The fae voice would never rival a siren's song, but there was no doubt that the fae had their own art and ethereal look that captivated other magicks. "I have been waiting for the chance to meet you Gunnar Kahananui, congratulations on your victory." She knew that Adam Calais was the former ruler, she was a testament to that knowledge as more and more mer left Arain. It might not have been so obvious when actions when under the water but certain nature-related phenomenons was something she was sensitive to. "Allow me the humour to welcome you back into Arain. It is not the paradise it once was... unfortunately." Aibell took a few steps tentative nearer the waters as she settled her weight sideward on a tree trunk.

wanderessiums:
He could not disagree at the Queenâs words, it was a cruel game to playâbut that was how the Unseelie operated when there was the given opportunity. With his head hung low, he could not bear to look at the Queenâs eyesâashamed of how his side of the court do way their so-called courtesy and welcome to their guests. Even before Maeveâs rule, things have always been rather gruesome, he wondered why it was that he was able to stomach the cruelty and the gore before his eyes when he was younger but then now, it all felt out of place. Could he have retaliated those words? No, the Unseelie court would always stay as it is. He gave a nod, âYes, your HighnessâŚ,â they follow her gesture and sitting at the seat he was gestured to. â⌠I, I am not⌠busyâIâm sorry again, I did not mean to eavesdropâŚ,â true though, there was nothing of importance todayâit seemed that Maeve was busy with her other duties so Lorien could care less of what happens to the higher ups.
Ears perk up at the mention of Sunâs name, but what caught his attention more was the Queenâs announcement that she no longer worked by her side. Their brows furrowed in obvious confusion, they could remember vividly that at the time back in the dungeons, Sun seemed driven and persevering that one day she would come back to her homeland, her court⌠but perhaps the mind is not at all ready for the truth. âI⌠I see, butâshe has, returned, right? She⌠she didnât die?â The question continues to hang, the last time heâs ever seen her was when she leftâbut he no longer knew if she was safe or even survived afterwards.
It was⌠the first time he would actually have to say this, he had never opened up aboutâanything pertaining to himself to anyone, even Sun. Back in their time with her with the Unseelie, it were small, quick conversations or simply silent comfort. Always, always so selflessâquiet and dismissive of his own. Though he did not wish to say, he knew it wouldnât be so easy to just ignore the Queenâs questions. A faint shade of pink tinted his cheeks, lips were pressed in a thin line, he wasâyoung and perhaps a little naive, back when he sided by the King. It seemed to bring nostalgia that warmed his heart in the most uncomfortable way possible. âIâ no, your Highness. I was solitaryâŚ,â a pause, his eyes maintaining eye contact with the Queen though it was wavering. âI once lived in an isolated forest of other solitary fae, I am not sure if youâve heard of the Black Forest.â
"Tea? Juice? Anything you would want?" Aibell said as without any voice or movement two goblets and a pot moved from the shelf as if riding the wind. It usually created quite an interesting reaction to other magicks, even some of fae who would react with startlement. Of course, Lorien had the same kind of magick if not the same level. While the air the pot had been pouring a sweet, calming drink into the cup, the one cup that Aibell had flying straight into her hands. A sip, two, and the Queen set the cup down beside her. "Feel free to tell me what you'd like, you do not have to be so tense though I appreciate the fact that you are." Tension meant fear, respect even, and Aibell craved that especially on those of the other fae. She made sure for them to know she meant no harm, but if she were forced to, then they should be ready as she would not let herself be caught with her guard low.
A rugged sigh escaped her lips, now pursed in dissappointment. "Yes she is alive, she is, somewhere in the forest, scouts have seen her and reported although I specifically told them not to tell me where exactly. I intend to give her space and time for the sole fact that we are of... very old friends." Aibell said everything very matter of factly, even though they were close, very close in fact that it drove Aibell to a steep downhill of insanity, her Seelie tendencies tend to be above the emotions. Duty first. "And you, you are... friends? If you are one to check up on her... she did not meet anything untoward from you, I assume?" An idea was working within Aibell, she hoped to be able to play it perfectly. She needed to have Lorien... pliable.
She quietly waited for Lorien to speak, the pot beside them as if dancing a little jig to push them into drinking something for the sole sake of relaxing. "The Black Forest?" her eyes twinkled and a small tug of her lips showed that she was to smile. "Have you ever been to the human world? There is a delicacy of a cake in the human world of a delicious dark brown cake littered with cream and cherries- ever so similar from the Black Forest which I believe is a dark, cold and yet... peaceful forest with multiple cherry blooming trees. I have never been, but the books say it's a lovely wintery place." Aibell softened they seemed nostalgic, melancholic as he spoke. "Tell me more, I am interested to know more about you-" her voice lowered, as if sharing some girlish secret just between the two of them. "Believe it or not my dear Lorien, ever since I saw you turn from air to human in front of me all those years ago, knowing you as that boy who was always with the king... fascinated me to no bounds. Your magick is beautiful and your way to be one with nature is endearing." Aibell meant them, their magick was beautiful, now to learn of their soul, if she could.
maevetuath:
Maeve smirked as her elder sister acknowledged the event of her ascension. It was a memory that the Queen often vacillated upon the thought of it, feeling a swell of pride over her victory, but an air of caution knowing how easily it, too, could be taken from her. Not to mention the sharp, invasive recollection of how it all smelledâŚit haunted her, mostly due to the fact that her flesh could burn under the ore all the same.
âWell thank you,â Maeve replied âLife is a tremendous stage, and I intend to put on a good show. Not to mention the amount of acting involved in our shared role, dear sister. We could have charmed poets, brought elegant writers to their knees as they fawned over our museâŚâ She cautioned a small glance at Aibell before snorting at the very thought. âGood thing we didnât. How extraordinarily blase that would have been.â Maeve shook her head, laughing lightly under her breath.Â
After a short silence, the younger sister felt the truth of her person spill forward heedlessly. âI donât regret it, you know.â She blurted out. Maeve could feel the heat rising to her cheeks. This was a sensitive subject â one that Maeve relayed in her head more often than not. It wasnât as if she sought the validation of her sister, or needed it, but there was an honesty â a new type of honesty â shared between them now that they were on the same level in a mutual agreement. âI would do it again, if I could. Thereâs a glory to all of this, butâŚit isnât at all like I thought it would be. When you were crowned, did you find it difficult to adjust? I know I certainly didâŚâ She trailed off, clasping her hands behind her back so they may not worsen her fidgeting.
Maeveâs face contorted as Aibell mentioned the GRF. âIf that placed just so happened to fall upon the wrong side of arson, I would happily laugh. That cesspit of humans reeks of bad intent. As for the vampiresâŚlet the lurkers do as they please, for now. Itâs their feed that needs to go first, if they even deserve such a titleâŚâ The Unseelie tensed and shook her head as wild thoughts of rapidly growing vampire populations filled her mind. NoâŚthat much would have to be avoided at all costs. Suddenly, an idea struck Maeve, making the younger fae smirk wickedly. âWe could always pay them a visitâŚa rather unsolicited one, but a necessary motion, no?â
"We still do my dear, we still do." They do charm certain people, beings, kinds, which was why in the end she was still the Seelie Queen and Maeve was still the Unseelie. There was a certain drama that two sisters would be on the throne, and for all intents, fae were very much attracted to dear drama. Aibell had felt lacking in many departments, much so in being proactive. But the reason the Seelie did run to Arain was due to family - fae related issues. In Arain, despite the time they have stayed, have heavily been more and more ravished by hostile beings. Granted there are alliances, friends even in the outside, but the fae were always very much important as a unique front.
If Maeve tried to hide her discomfort at a somewhat more emotional talk with her- her sister, almost estranged if not for the royalty ties - or maybe due to the royalty ties - Aibell did not hide her initial trepidation on the subject matter as well. If they were young, if they were friends then maybe there could have been teasing and banter. They were not young no- but they were far from old and ancient. "No, it was not what I thought it would be." It was not as if Maeve was asking for advise, but a sort of experience, to know she was not alone. For years, decades Aibell had left her alone, left her alone with their mother to pursue much greater things. She would not be selfish with this question, she would not let her sister be alone for this.
Aibell would try, she would try so hard to try and build a better- working relationship with her sister. She might have been decades, alright centuries late, but it was better than never. After all, they were stuck in Arain, whether blood be spilled or they be at peace, they were still stuck. Better now to be in good graces - at least, at least until things calm down for the best. Maybe it was even naive to think that if they do get trapped for centuries, millenia more then maybe the Seelie and Unseelie would once again return to it's origin. Fae. The odds were low, it seems like an idyllic and very idealistic possibility. Even so, two sisters became Queen's of separate thrones, it must mean something.
"Forgive me for the bluntness, but compared to your theatrically barbaric act, I did try to do everything, to be ready for everything just to be the Seelie Queen... even forgetting to learn of... of Father along the way." she cleared her throat. It was something she wanted to open up for some time. It would have been their moment, to find who that missing piece was. "But even so did I read all thACe books and learn all the tongues, it was never easy, the throne to sit on and the crown on my head was exhilirating... for a time. Nothing could have made me ready for all the responsibilities it would give me the same for the responsibilities now on your shoulder." she gave Maeve a smile, encouraging even. Nothing was every easy, you wouldn't know until you were thrust in the middle of it.
"If I were to be perfectly honest Maeve, I would have tried to create a sort of harmonious relationship with them, to deal magick for their cooperation." Aibell's tone was light, conveying that she would have done just so, but her face betrayed the lightness as small contortions graced her usually blemish-free face. "Unfortunately, you do see that my protector - your..." What would Aibell say? Thorn? Prisoner? Long time guest? "Sun, Sun Young Ri was taken by the GRF shortly after her coming back to me. It was quite unfortunate even if I were to put face and keep it as is, I would never forgive them." Aibell's heavy heart regarding the matter definitely gave way to stress. Until now she could not believe that her sole protector would have had the gall to leave as if life and duty where a mere play thing. The only thing that stopped Aibell from doing anything remotely destructive was the fact that they were long time friends.Â
"Not that I would wish it on any fae, but humans to do their... tinkering on one so close to me. I dare not make any promises, nothing this remote has happened to me or come to my attention. I believe I may not fully be composed if I were there alone. Did you have a plan in mind? I know that your beloved strategist, Avery has had something up his sleeves... maybe we could work something to both our advantage with them... together I hope.âÂ

âAbra and Anthony, good I guess? Sorry I actually- donât talk to the others as much as I should. Iâm usually with Dhviti or off on my own lately⌠but I do share a house with them and I havenât heard of anything life altering so Iâll go with good.â She shrugged a bit. Realizing at the question that she really should talk to the other more. They lived together, they were part of the same coven⌠but so was her family before and really⌠they hadnât bothered talking to her and caring about her. So if she didnât make the effort at least it wasnât their choice to ignore her existence. Or taunt her for her hobbies.
There was something about this woman that Ailis didnât quite⌠get. She was odd. Maybe it was just because she was fae and Ailis really didnât spent much time around any of them. Yet again, or anyone. Really she wasnât terribly biased in her neglect of social interaction. She kept to herself, with a grand total of three people being on the list sheâd make an effort to actually talk to.
Ailis rose a brow at the odd way the fae grasped her hand, a little smile tugging at her lips. She really was pretty deep in the fae side of things. Clearly not having a clue how to shake someoneâs hand. Ailis didnât say anything on the matter though. Especially not once the elegant womanâs name was spoken. Hanging in the air for a moment. Ailisâ eyes widen immediately.
âHoly Sh- Crap. Youâre the Queen? Sorry- not really used to royalty.â Or anyone of wealth unless she was intending to break into their house later and steal their valuables but she wasnât doing that in the forest anymore. Magicks were not just Joe Shmoe on the corner that she could just walk up to and take whatever she wanted from their house.Â
âMy magick? Yeah it worksâŚ. Not on the walls or anything but it works.â She shrugged and brought her hands together in front of her, like she was gripping a large ball- such as a basketball or the like. Twisting her hands ever so slightly a small bead of fire started in the middle and grew so the outer edges were licking at her finger tips. She suddenly clasped her hands together, the fire dissipating into thin air.
Ailisâ eyes immediately darted towards the general- very vague direction of the howl. âYeah, I assumed as much honestly.â
Aibell kept her silence, it was quite the thought, how many enchanters did live in that cabin of theirs for them to not know each other? The fae were a large kingdom, two kingdoms in fact and that is all the more reason that some might not get to know another. Still, it was below her to look into every niche or clique of certain fae unless it was a brewing concern.
The queen did not mind the whole ordeal, of course in a way she did, but the present was more important to deal with right now. Ailis did not seem to be an enchanter with ill intent and she looked to have a bright head on her shoulders. With enough work synergy they could make it out alive and less than frosbitten.
The smile that was on Ailis face at Aibell's unusual hand gesture was not lost on her as in the same way Aibell's face graced with a smile at how the young enchanter learned of who they were faced with. It of course boosted the elder fae's ego that there were certain beings who still felt in a way, startled by that fact. "That is nothing to mind, in the human world there are little to few monarchs and within the coven it has always been a... how shall I say it, I believe it has always been close families and villages of a certain number." Civilizations differ, but even so Aibell could appreciate the moment other's learned of heirarchy. Even she- a fae would no doubt treat Abra with respect and would go as far to bow ever so lightly with another magick. It was the way of things even though she might not agree with them so much. Politics and diplomacy laced with talk and wine-intoxicating words.
"Similar then" the queen lifted her hand to face the wall, a bright red orb of flames was created on her palm as it swirled around. With a small yet precise push, the ball went fowards towards a wall, the red spinning ball turning into a bright blue, the heat would be intense - and yet, the wall stayed ever so solid. "Horrible, isn't it?" Aibell 'tsk'd with a displeased face. Â
The cold grew harsher, and every though Aibell could make herself feel safe with the cold inwardly, outside showed a different setup, her hair was already starting to be attracting with little pieces of snowflakes and ice. It was concerning as the longer they stay, the harder it is to just magickally disregard the cold.
"Come there is much we need to cover as it might be impossible to leave. Unless of course we stay and be protected by our magic from the cold, it would not do well to die of hunger or or a more morbid reason." Aibell led the way, the maze had many corners, many walls. With every corner they would choose to go, she would aim a fireball towards, it was not a very wise thing to do in hindsight, especially since there's a big possibility something... wise was beside it. Unfortunately, Aibell did not think that through, the fireball was more for protection after all and so when she turned around the corner, her eyes were straight into looking at the dark and angry eyes of a Saumen Kar who was most likely minding his own business until a random fireball startled or irritated him.
Aibell was already transfixed into his angry eyes before she could say anything to the young enchanter.

Secret Valentine's! A bouquet of striped carnations and white carnations appears by your doorstep đ
Carnations were one of Aibellâs favorite kind. She knew the meanings of each and every one of its colors. Even if they were of silly beliefs by men or the more deep rooted beliefs by the magickal kind.
This is one of the moments where the Seelie Queen gingerly squatted to pick up the bouquet from the carpeted floor of her hallway- rather than use her magick to do so.
The Carnations were grand and beautiful. As if it blossomed to the fullest of blooms. She made a mental note to ask for extensive help from the gardens to make sure the flowers live a longer life than usual.
Despite their beauty and radiance, the carnations held a meaning, and even if people were to admire and praise the deliverer of its decadent blooms, Aibell felt a pang in her heart as the gentle rejection, a representation of the striped carnations, overlapped with the pure love that was the symbol of the white ones.
A tear threatened to fall. A longing unanswered, a sole want never fully fulfilled.
maevetuath:
Maeve snorted at her sisterâs tomfoolery, feeling an odd sensation of content with the moment. It felt, even for the briefest of seconds, like it was when they were children. The memories were a little murkier than more recent ones, but she could envision it like it had only just happened. Simple things flooded her mind â playing at her motherâs feet, pulling at a sturdy piece of cloth Aibell could have worn, staring into the fire and giggling as stories were passed around like dinner plates.Â
âLetâs find somewhere easier to sit. Eyes are prone to prying, and even the trees have ears nowadaysâŚâ she trailed off, giving her sister a knowing look. It mightâve been a strange thing to say, but from one Queen to another, it seemed fair to assume that the suspicion of eavesdropping and intrusion was mutual. âPerhaps then there would be no excuse as to my mindlessness.â Maeve kicked the front of her layered skirts and began walking towards the section of the forts where the Unseelie dwelled. Perhaps it was a test, perhaps it was not. Her sister was still her opposite, her foil in all things regal. And besides, her chambers could use a bit ofâŚbrightening.
Maeve paused and thought for a moment. Of course there was animosity â Aibell must have known well enough that it was an inevitability, considering how obvious it seemed to Maeve. But it seemed as though both sides of the spectrum were starting to tire themselves out. âRoughhousing will always be a part of this. My court is a court of revelry with aggressive inclinations. However, noâŚit doesnât seem as targeted as of late.â Even Maeve had to admit that it seemed things werenât as bad as they had previously been, but if she knew her subjects â and herself â the Unseelie Queen would never bend completely. Especially not to the light. âAnd what about you? Have you noticed anything exceptionally ordinary or noteworthy?â
Aibell nodded in acknowledgement of their movement. Of course, she believed that there would always be rumours, it irked her that the ears around the fae were so... fae-like, there was little use for lies, but when fae exagerrated the truth in the form of rumours it would feel like a lie all the same. Or when words of lies are twisted to become truth. True enough that even the queen used it on certain occasions, but never in the form of rumours. It was uncouth as best. Although on the other side of things, Aibell never minded them as much, as she believed the truth will always come out and it became a practice for her to be the truth, or uncover the truth in the face of lies and deceit. Even if she had her own.
She followed closely beside her sister, letting her take the lead with one foot as Aibell very closely followed almost as if together. "Aggressive inclination is very much the on point of your group, of course that is why the court of Unseelie had to branch out on their own do they not?" she chuckled as a memory brought her to an almost laugh. "Oh I do remember the whole hubhub when you... destroyed the former king sister, that was quite the spectacle, it was even more dramatic and with flair - if not dignity on how he killed his predecessor."
The Seelie shook her head at the memory on how fast it was to have been alerted that another Tuath, the sister to Aibell, one of the youngest Seelie Queen's ever coronated was now the Queen of the Unseelie court. It was a spectacle to hear and know of the rumours that enveloped them at that time.
"Everything is as dull as it can be, not that I am complaining." Aibell said, "I would prefer it that way, people train as they are, be as they are despite the most .. what should I call it, stir crazy moments of those who love to venture to the outside of Arain but cannot for obvious reasons." She herself was included, her leaving Arain was not unusual, but it definitely lessened as the impending battle and so on came. "The humans are quite wonderfully quiet right now," she debated if she would tell her sister about Sun Young Ri and her defection, but decided against it for now. "It is as almost... we are being lulled into this false sense of security that things will be fine, or maybe the forest will all just eat us up and be done with all the magicks in this place." Aibell remembered the fact that the humans now had vampires in their ranks. "It may be so much to ask that the humans have been eaten by the vampires if not turned, but I assume that there is something underfoot in that... GRF of theirs."

It was painful, they had to admit itâthe sensation was ever so familiar to being burned alive, not that they were a stranger to it. They had literally felt burned, but not in this formâas air, experimenting with their magick if it was possible to amplify flames via combining themselves with it (it was stupid and reckless, do not do this at home). But with determination, they did not voice their pain, their expression may have given it away but all this had exhausted his voice already. They had never spoken too much or too emotionally after too long. After all, their element was not meant to stay and it was not meant to harden.
Their gaze was focused on the slowly healing scar, in fact, they had almost completely forgotten the painful sensation as they were mesmerized by the way it seemed as if it never did exist, along with the blood that had spilled on the ground had began to evaporate and dissipate into thin air. Thoughts no longer wandered as they heard the queen emit a composing breath, eyes again daring to look at hers. Despite having already picked themselves up, they still could not help but feel the chills run down their spine with the way the Queen had uttered their name, chilling and frightening. Fionn Cavanaugh. Ah, yes. They did not forget they existed as well, the way he and Maeve had their plans tied together like strings of fate. Of course, what else would the queen would have asked? Sun Young Ri was her protector, perhaps even the closest person ever to the Seelie Queen. They let her finish all her statements first, their mind already trying to compose the correct words. It was utterly a god damned mess. Too soon, too exhaustingâthis wasnât their job nor was it their responsibility to spill the beans. In fact, these were the very situations they often flee from, the emotional weight tugging their heart is too much for them to wear, a guilt not theirs to haveâa cross theirs to carry (but is it?).
It would be an awful, awful decision to avoid the whole ordeal, they couldnât exactly lie and further shifting the topic might really have him leave the pressurized room with a mangled body. The imagery of actually having their body mangledâa finger in their eye sockets or maybe even an arm protruding out of their chest as their heart would be out of the physical case; maybe skin uneven and at the wrong placesâwas not what they wanted their fates to end up as. ââŚ,â only silence was delivered at first, lips parting as if to say something but immediately closed; not that they didnât want to say it (they really didnât want to) but with the whole forest drama, and even the faerie alliance, further fuelling the flames between two courts wouldnât make this alliance work.

Either wouldnât make anything better all of it lead to the worst case scenario. God, it was already wrong theyâve deemed themselves as an acquaintance, now the Queen would possibly assume them to be one of those who hurt Sun (not like it was wrong). Theyâve already mentally prepared themselves to die at this moment, who wouldnât be though? They were certain that she wouldnât let him flee so safely or leave these grounds alive.

The truth came out easier than Aibell had suspected, despite Lorien's stature to not stand out in the crowd, he held his own observations and knew of many things - no doubt due to his power of air mimicry. Helpful, dangerous, flexible, but most of all, free. She listened to his almost snivelling words, their voice seeming to crack as it was. "Perhaps that is how the Unseelie greet their guests, their most honorable and welcome guests do they not?" Her voice was clipped, mocking, disgusted and even though they were shadowed with mere savory words, the feeling was there and the fact that Sun Young was no doubt hurting for how many years - then barely stepped back into the Seelie life after the eclipse before the whole ordeal of the humans, Aibell had to wonder what was going on in her protectors head.
Should she? Should Aibell think of Sun as her protector anymore? Her eyes, hard and dark now took a longing stare as she turned her back from the Unseelie fae. "Come Lorien, take a seat -" she said as she proceeded to move towards an armchair, letting her other hand gesture to the other. "Feel comfortable, I hope you are not too busy - given that you have said that you're... eavesdropping is not of Maeve's order but of your own volition." A dainty finger placed itself on the sides of her mouth, her thought once again trying to place themselves properly, creating a line of ever growing questions. "Sun Young Ri is not her, the girl who left, Sun is not by my side anymore." Despite the Queen's obvious stoic and guarded look with Lorien, it was impossible to miss the sadness that crept with it.
"Tell me about yourself Lorien, I have never had the chance to meet you apart from that faithful day of our youths. You were always this young boy by the Unseelie King's side, never leaving... and when you weren't by his side, you were... no where. Of course now I understand that you have the magick to control that- but tell me, were you always of Unseelie Origin?" There was something about him that said that he was not. Something in Lorien in the way his guileless eyes showed innocence and in his gentle nature, no doubt of air, created a sense of ease and peace. Something about him that Aibell believed would be her leverage, but also to let out a sort of helping hand if there was more to learn about his past.

ailisinwonderland:
Ailis listened, she wasnât particularly scared of this being- the woman in front of her seemed far to elegant to get into a fight. At least the sort of fight Ailis thought of first. She was annoyed, obviously, at the current state of things but had a funny feeling the forest had done this to at least a fair few members. Wondering how many of them were trapped in this absolutely ridiculous maze.Â
âFae. Makes sense.â She nodded. She had almost guessed that but had learned not quite to jump to conclusions. However, she was pleased she was right in that matter. âIâm an enchanter yes, part of the Bhatia Coven.â She mostly added that in because she knew they were on good terms with the Seelie fae. They had connections there and that was good enough for her to feel a bit better about this situation.Â
Nodding she gave an apologetic half smile. âYeah sorry- I just⌠this isnât exactly what I signed up for. Not that you did. itâs just⌠this sucks basically.â She sighed and shrugged as the fae spoke again. She had an aura about her that screamed power. Or maybe wealth? She didnât know which sort of standing the other fae had but it was definitely more than your average fae that was for sure. âUh yeah, thatâs amenableâŚBetter than being alone in this anyway.â Now Ailis wasnât usually one to care too much for company but it seemed like a good idea in this situation.
Though, quickly it was proven that she had made the right choice. Or well, the only choice? As the fae tried to walk away. With each attempted step Ailis felt herself tugged gently in that direction. Not much but just slightly. When the fae stopped Ailis held up a hand to stop her briefly. âHold on, I just-â She backed up until the same distance was between them and found herself unable to move. Turning to put a bit more force into the step it was like trying to walk into a wall. âGuess we donât have a choice anyway. Well..â She walked up to the fae and held out her hand. âIâm Ailis. We might as well start this off with introductions I guess, yeah?â
Aibell merely nodded as she acknowledged the enchanter's words. If she was a part of the Bhatia covern then she might show her own merit as Abra would not be the kind to pick up strays and even if she did, then the Bhatia would work their way towards betterment as they should be. "And how are your other co-enchanters? Abra? That young boy Anthony." she wondered to ask, it has been sometime since she had met with Abra and she had forgotten how big the enchanters would be in the length of time they have journeyed to work on their coven.
The short rambling was met with a patient smile, not that Aibell had anywhere to attend to, not like she had a kingdom that still waited for her, but there was a feeling that in this forest, something magickal was stopping them, and that it is not only them who are stuck in the maze. The push and pull of their combined efforts in movement then made sense, the magick did pull two beings together.
Aibell waited for the other as they approached, the hand offered caught her unawared but nevertheless it was welcome. The fae queen took her time to look at the girl's face, young, so much more life to see and explore, and then at the hand that eagerly showed their willingness to be a part of a team... much unlike her and her sister during their younger days.
Before the situation would get awkward with the queen's gaze Aibell reached out her hand although of a different style with hers reaching out like a queen, an upside down cup of her hand as she reached the others and shook it. The not so usual display was more of the fact she did slightly forget how human usually did their greeting rituals.
"Aibell. Young one, Queen Aibell of the Seelie Fae." the introduction ended as Aibell spoke of her own questions "Your magick does not also work, does it not?" Obviously anyone who had any capability would no doubt have done something already.  A howl, human or creature born was heard, âWe must be careful Ailis, the maze seems to have more tricks up itâs sleeve.âÂ

The human world. Think what that means~ A photograph hidden in the room of hidden memories, tightly locked and sealed in an enchanted box that can only be opened by Aibell or of children upon her death.
Sometimes we lose ourselves, we search too much too hard for what we wanted and our goals that we turn our backs on who we are and our original roots and connections. Sometimes, losing ourselves does not have to be a source of shame. This photo is a testament of that. For a brief period of my life I experienced happiness and joy that the Seelie life would not fully be able to give me. âAn exhilarationâ. It is not a path I would choose back then, it is a path I might long for now - but I look back on it and believe that there was a reason they happened, that I embraced those moments with no fear or shame.

With the hole now in the wall of the maze, Mateo was finally able to step through. Once outside he was greeted with the regal face of the Seelie queen. She appeared please and for that Mateo was grateful. It had not been an easy task to traverse the maze but with perseverance, he was able to succeed. He now watched in amazement as the earthly structure now collapsed back into whence it came.
Mateo than shifted back to normal as his queen came to speak to him. She looked him over for a bit to see if he needed any healing but Mateo was proud to say he did not. He then kneeled out of respect for the Seelie queen. âThank you, my queen. Your task may have seemed eccentric but I must say that it was quite challenging. I am glad that I was able to persevere in the end.â
It was not long before Aibell was introducing the next segment of training. Confusion laced Mateoâs expression as he was not quite sure what she was proposing. âYes, my queen. All elements of the earth are at my disposal,â he assured. Mateo was accustomed to incorporating the other elements into his forms such as water and air, with mud and dust respectively, but heâd never been able to connect with fire. âFire? My queen, I donât think Iâve ever been able to connect with fire. I donât even think Iâve been able to shift into lava either,â he admitted.
Mateo watched in awe as the flame formed in Aibellâs hand. It then was whisked away as it floated off to rest on an earthly pedestal. The colors shifting from red to blue indicating the intensity of the temperature. As Aibell spoke, the words rang true in Mateoâs mind. Letting his instincts take over, he shifted into that of coal. A type of rock that he knew what used as fuel within the human world. âYes, my queen!â
She watched as he turned into coal, not a bad start. Coal was a fuel, but it would burn soon enough, and despite the coal he embodied could actually be a person inside, it would charr him, creating ash. Not so pleasant. She spoke her mind as so as she controlled the orb to fiery temperature, adding a mixture of controlled air pressure and water to create a burning formula of which lava starts from.
"Yes you did not need to practice much on the properties of fire as there is no need for Arain to be at the mercy of volcano's but... in the importance for being well - balanced, well- rounded as well as being ready for anything that can happen, treat this as an extra lesson for your continuous learning." The lava was formed, and now a circular moat appeared surrounding Mateo in a circle.
"Being coal is a good idea, but it is not advisable as coal fuels fire, and it burns - if you were to stay as so - it would be possible to charr and turn to ash, which would not be advisable." she explained, imbuing her knowledge as she controlled the elements seamlessly under her movements.
The lava travelled smoothly from the orb and towards the moat, surrounding Mateo in it's heat and danger. The strength of it's heat even reflecting on some of the shinier surfaces of his coal structure. "The moat is as deep as half of your body, you are to place yourself inside. For each moment that you believe you are to wither away, think of being one with the fire, with the lava. Think of being the lava. You should not be coal anymore, and when you turn, when you turn into earth that could withstand temperatures, you have conquered it." There was confidence in her voice, encouragement, even though deep inside she was worried, but this was training and pushing a fae to the best of their abilities was the goal.
"If you really feel as if you are not going to make it, leave the moat - do not be afraid to ask for help. For as stubborn as earth is, even the mightiest foundations collapse. Breathe and try again Mateo, the afternoon is still early after all - earlier, if you were not late." she jested, trying to lift a little spirit despite the dangerous challenge in front of them.

ailisinwonderland:
Ailis had just taken a break from working on various items in her workshop. Sheâd gone to grab a cup of coffee- before everything went black. When she woke up she was surrounded by walls of ice. Snow covered ground and more drifting downwards. She blinked and pulled herself up to stand. Looking around she wrapped her arms around herself. It was much colder out than sheâd thought it had been. Then again she didnât recall the snow falling this hard either.
She looked around at all the walls, kicking one with a (thankfully) steel toed boot. The impact was⌠well she was very thankful the boots she wore in her workshop were made for impact like that. It was definitely a very solid wall. Ailis tried heating her hands and placing them against the wall to no avail. Next, a fireball appeared in either hand she threw them at the wall with a fiery hot explosion⌠that did absolutely nothing.
She tried various other enchantments trying to damage the ice, melt it, crack it, anything. She tried climbing it but found the top of the maze to be a raging storm, worse than the one inside. One which, immediately knocked Ailis down into the maze again with a heavy thud.
âFucking hell.â She grumbled under her breath and began to walk. Leaving behind her small rocks she summoned into her hand. Pebbles really. They were there as long as they were in her line of sight⌠what she didnât realize was that they were whisked away the moment the pathway she was in was out of view.Â
Ailis went silent as she walked, taking slow deliberate steps, keeping her eyes out for anyone. Or anything. She absolutely did not trust this place. Wondering if the forest was playing tricks on her or if others were here- she heard a voice. A female voice. One she didnât recognize. Uncertain if she should answer she crept forward towards the corner she was certain the voice had come from and peeked around the corner. It was a woman, elegant looking- clearly not human and not one of the enchanters she recognizedâŚÂ
âI am⌠who are you? If you are some trick of whatever this is leave me be. If youâre another forest inhabitant who are you and what are you.â Ailis was cold both physically and in her response. So she solved one of the two by hovering her hands an inch or so away from her clothing and moving it over it. Magic lined the clothing to keep her warm. A warmer color returned to her cheeks and the shivering stopped almost instantly.
Well, she didn't expect such... testy creatures. But then there they were, of all kinds and was impossible to not be  miffed at anyway at the state of their unfortunate predicament. Keeping her composure cool and collected, Aibell gave a soft smile, a smile that was sure to radiate around her, as if her skin itself glowed with her stature.
"I am of fae, young one" she started "I am of the Seelie fae, and you? You do not seem human - enchanter perhaps?" She did not have the air of magick that said vampire or werewolf or even of mer, there was magick around her, magick that was familiar, magick in the air that was the same as when she was with Abra, and even Anthony. If she were of the former's coven, then it would not be so bad after all.
"I am not a trick, fortunately." 'and so are you' she thought to herself, slightly more haughty than usual given that she should not have been hoodwinked by a spirit or so. "Come, I have no need nor gain to harm you as it seems this maze's expanse is... huge in it's entirety. I suggest we work together, if that is amenable to you?" Aibell offered, her demeanor not showing anything hostile. Without waiting for her answer, Aibell took a step forward but found herself unable to. A quirk of her brown showed as she tried with her other foot.
Concern was on her features and the Seelie Queen decided to turn and walk backwards - towards the enchanter. "Ah... it seems we are stuck together." she surmised. Although not fully sure as it would take a movement from her to test the possibilities.
maevetuath:
Maeve felt her body betray her as it eased, finding that it enjoying the company her sister provided. Granted, she would rather rip her own tongue out than admit it, knowing that it would only warm her sisterâs already perfect heart. Maeve was in no mood to grant her sister any chance at a fair bit of smugness, as selfish as it seemed. Not that the Unseelie Queen cared â she thought more of herself than any other â but the mere presence of this beacon of goodness managed to reach a morsel of Maeveâs rotten core. It would only occur in private, thoughâŚand deep down in the deathly void of her being.
The Queen made no effort to turn to her sister, knowing fully well that she would command her attention regardless. Her regal nature was effortless, or so it appeared to Maeve. She knew that her sister worked diligently to gain her status, chiseling herself into the image of perfection and purity. An image popped into her mind of Aibell on her coronation day â one that tasted of sunshine and rightful duty. The thought made her roll her eyes; Maeve much preferred how she gained the Unseelie crown. To the dogs with anyone who believes it barbaric; she considered it to be right, as Machiavellian as it was.
Her eyes lit up at the sight of the basket, the look of amusement upon her features twisting no further than a knowing smirk. Regardless of the ages they spent with a festering schism between them, it was still only Aibell who managed to know Maeve truly well. The Unseelie shifted at the thought, and suddenly twisted her face into a blase expression â a poor attempt, at that.Â
âAh, yesâŚthe rendezvous. The rendezvous plan I specifically forgot to listen to.â Maeve quirked a brow, her eyes returning to the basket. She took a deep breath and let out a contented sound. âWhere the devil did you find plums this time of year?â She mused, reaching a slender hand out to attempt a hungry grab at the basket.
Aibell felt that she did not have to say anything even if she felt the atmosphere turn lighter, less hostile. One because despite all her ego, she knew that she had no right to dictate what feelings should be between Maeve and her. Aibell was rarely at her family's side, with the promise of finding their father and the her excelling in the art of being the Seelie Queen. The best she could do was not patronize her sister - for fear, not due to magick or strength or prestige, but due to that thin line that they were still of blood, that despite the eons that have passed they were once sisters who had played, who had dreamed, who had lived in a house with a small but wonderful family. It would not do to forget the past in anything that was to shape the future.
"Come now," she said, trying to lighten the moment - even though thankfully, it did turn out that way. Worst that could happen is she would have hurt pride if Maeve decided to leave her. Maybe it would have happened, if they were younger, not now though. Appearances, even of Seelie or Unseelie must be made.
The Seelie Queen gave a smile as she shook her head. She could not find it in herself to chastise her little sister about the so called rendevous. After all, despite the same status of Queens, they were almost as equals. Her smiles and welcome of her sister's quirks were the bias she gives in the moment. Aibell lifted the basket for Maeve to easily find a plum or whatnot. "Should I tell you? Maybe I shouldn't?" a wonder, a tease, keep the moment lighthearted until fortune ran out or destiny decided otherwise. "If I do, then I will most likely not be able to bribe for your apperance yes?"
WIth another chuckle, Aibell went to grab a string of perfectly green, seedless grapes and let herself eat from the stem without preamble. "Shall we venture to a more suitable area or should find a dignified way to sit on where we are?" Of course, the Forts were littered with benches and so on as they were of a community, but with both queens, it was impossible not to find a servant or maid that would be willing to arrange a seat for them.
"Tell me, how have you been faring with this alliance? Any... roughhousing or rebellion that needs to be taken note of?" Aibell had her own sorts, especially during the first few months. Though she did not hear much from Maeve at that time, it could have been worse - to partner and live with the kind whom each faction tried their best to avoid.

wanderessiums:
 .
Too long, it had been far too long since the last time theyâve felt this specific kind of painâthe flood, with nowhere else to circulate had to drip endlessly on the probably newly polished tiles, a part of him felt bad for dirtying the floor (it was bad enough that they, a filth, stepped foot in this part of the forts again). Teeth clenched in the obvious burning sensation, it was as if a mini waterfall of dripping crimson, âHhhhâŚ! Iâm sorry⌠Iâm sorry!â tears continued to trickle down their face; it was utterly pathetic but the feeling came too fast, a burning and electrifying feeling that had sent their senses haywire.
Though the missing part had returned, the pain still lingered akin to static. The scar from the recent whole cut still evident, blood still dripping though not as badly as a while ago. They immediately follow the Queenâs order; they stand and though hesitant, they show their cut wrist. A gulp could be heard. Ah, yes. They remember the last time theyâd met, it wasnât so awful, but not exactly pleasant and they still could not believe they just fled after being healed. The thought of their body being deformed was not a thought they could stomach and they were sure that the other fae had the capability of doing so to his body if they were not careful with their words and actions.
Sun Young Ri. The name felt heavy to be heard, âI⌠I uh, sheâ,â it was God awful how they could not lie and in this situation, it felt hard to avoid the whole âWell, she was tortured and somehow we became friends.â Lorien tried to formulate words in their heard but no proper sentence could be made. âShe⌠weâwe know, I mean, weâre acquaintances of some sortâŚ, I just thought that⌠maybe I could pay her a visitâŚâ the fact that their heart could barely make him feel calm was already a problem to them, they had stumbled and repeated too many words. A shaky breath emitted from their lips, forcibly trying to calm themselves so not to look pathetic in front of the former Seelie Queen (but fear cannot be tamed, for it devours and devours until you are back to nothingness). âI just, really want to see Sun Young Ri, I just want to see if⌠if sheâs been doing alright.â
The healing was quick and easy, even though it was painful for the receiver. Aibell's healing was extensive, but it came with a price - the price of pain for the glory of wholeness. She knew the range of her powers and even though she knew she could reach more, she did not. As her thirst for power would no doubt put her to more weight that was not of Seelie. Not of kin. Idly, Aibell wondered again to the time of eons ago, when they were younger. Aibell had healed him with no malice, guarded yes, but no malice- and little worry. Her heart was in the healing and her mind and soul followed.
At the present -at this display though, a different thought came, a thought that was born from war, hardships and challenges. Idly, she thought what if Lorien were to be her slave, to be her prisoner - or any Unseelie or being for that matter. She could heal them, and hurt them, and heal them as they have no choice. Pain would be suffering, death would be a mercy under her. There would be lingering love from her people, and fear to those who do not follow... respect would come as a prize from both. She could do it- she knew, if she deemed it just.
Her deep thought was contained as she healed the scar- the cuts starting to mend themselves and blend with the skin. The blood, as blood was also water seemd to evaporate in the air, leaving no trace of... issues. Â The Queen's dark thoughts settled, and even though her face betrayed that her thoughts started to turn wicked, it did little to tarnish her usual facade of grace and beauty. With a wary and tired look she regarded the fae who seemed to truly be sorry - or maybe scared that he was found out.
With a composing breath, Aibell made sure that their moment would not be disturbed. That her 'visitor' would stay in the room whatever happened. She let their cries and pleads continue. Until they were able to compose themselves- "So tell me... Lorien" she stretched her words, spacing them with pauses and thoughts. "You said you were both of acquaintance? Why what does she do, what did she do rather while in the Unseelie Court? You know as well as I do that Fionn has been regarded with less than friendly stares, and although the Seelie Court has been courteous to him as he was to us, your court has always been- brutal, to say the least." Her voice turned softer, a worry now- where was her protector, what secrets have she deemed to keep? "If you were of acquaintance, then you would have know what she had been doing. Tell me, was our well-wishing welcome to Fionn also met with the same courtesy while in your court?"
Aibell would have a bone to pick with her sister, with the courts, with Sun - but not now, not yet. First she had to remove her feelings from the matter. Take them as observant information. There was an alliance, and it was her duty to keep the alliance prospering. Revenge was seen as a petty thing, but she was not just a queen after all, she was also of feelings, she was also a friend.
