Another pride month has passed, and yet again I was too nervous to go to the pride parade. Happy July, I guess. 

Cleaned my room today in anticipation for a new addition to the family: yet another cat. She’s a kitten, and I’m a little bit worried about how she’ll react to my other cats. Or, maybe more so how they’ll react to her. My cats can get pretty violent toward each other. I have three cats currently and despite being from the same litter, despite being raised together, they do not like each other. The only cat that got along with all of them died in February. Her name was Sassy. 

The kitten’s name is Lucinda. I originally wanted to name her Psyche, but my friend was persistent that I either name her Lucy or Echo, and I really wasn’t keen on echo. I know, I shouldn’t let someone else determine what my cat’s name is going to be, but she is the one who’s going to give her to me. We found her alone in the yard last night, so we put up flyers and if nobody claims her in two weeks then I’m taking her in because she has a lonely dog and a wild, attention whore puppy. 

When I told my friend that I would be naming her Lucinda, Luci for short, she decided on her full name being Lucinda Furr. 

Luci Furr. 

I guess it’s fitting, since cats are apparently demon spawns. 

We’re going to pick her up on Tuesday, July 3rd, and test the waters with my other cats. If it doesn’t work out I’ll have to find her a trustworthy owner, because I’m paranoid about leaving animals in the hands of the Humane Society. Probably why all my animals have been feral. 

I’m surprised how perfect the timing was when finding her. I don’t volunteer this week, which is why I’m able to take her in at all. If I couldn’t be here to make sure that everything went decently well then I’d probably end up coming home to a dead kitten.
