SKATER BOI 💫🍎

Main cast are Goncharov himself, his wife Katya (née Michailov), and Andrey 

One side character is named Mario Ambrosini. He is described as a “sad boi” and is involved in gambling. 

Set in Naples and involving a drug ring/mafia. The plot seems to involve Russian organized crime attempting to get a foothold in Italy. 

There is a Boat Scene. Katya survives via resourcefulness. 

Andrey and Goncharov have a substantial amount of homoeroticism. Andrey also has an internet in Katya. This forms a true love triangle. 

At some point, Katya threatens to shoot Goncharov. This is framed as a Girlboss Moment. 

There is also a Beer Bottle Scene.

- about 50% of people with down’s syndrome are also autistic

- a lot of the attitudes that people have towards people with down’s syndrome are also believed about autism (particularly “low functioning” autistic people)

- the only difference is that pre-natal testing for down’s syndrome exists whereas it doesn’t for autism (yet)

- many people are campaigning for/researching pre-natal testing for autism

- a few years down the line we could so easily be in a situation where a pre-natal test for autism exists, and in which 90% of fetuses identified as having autism could be aborted, as is the current situation for down’s syndrome

Yahoo bought Tumblr as the site was competing with other media platforms and slowly becoming obsolete. Asking why people don’t flock here anymore is like asking why people don’t use MySpace any more. There was a shift to different forms of media.

What made Tumblr an L was not the existence of an insufferable user base, but the loss of its user base.

Twitter? Twitter will never be an L for Musk. First, there is no cultural disconnect between him and the platform. Musk is the epitome of Twitter culture. Capitalistic. Reductive. “Edgy.” Cringe. Thinking he’s the smartest person in the room; a true intellectual. Offensively pseudo-ironic. Literally Twitter.
